Is this movie going to be a Flop?

It comes out 3 days before Batman : The Dark Knight...I don't know about you, but that doesn't bode well considering this summer is saturated with comic book movies.

Don't get me wrong, I loved Hellboy, but I just think the timing of this movie is very risky.

EDIT: Sorry I meant 1 week. I was mistakening the debut of the Gotham Knight DVD w/the Dark Knight.

Extreamly risky; no doubt it'll do pretty well the first weekend, and I know this is gonna be a kickass movie, but TDK will blow it outta the park when it hits.......along with everything else. But no, I don't think it's gonna be a flop; the trailers aren't giving the movie the credit it deserves and I actually think it'll do better than Hulk and almost as good as Iron Man, so it's probably gonna be kinda in between.

I want a 3rd film none the less and just want this one to be a success, no doubt it will follow Hellboy 1 and do very well on DVD.

I'm thinking that somebody somewhere is just hoping Hellboy II flops for some unknown reason. I'm watching the first one and i love it so far so I don't understand how anyone could hate this movie series.

Do i think the movie will flop, depends on how much it makes first week, because after that its gonna get beaten down hard by the dark knight.

Don't underestimate the mainstream buzz on this movie. I was in the theatre for Incredible Hulk and I overheard close to a dozen people talking out loud to others about it. Fathers talking to kids. Kids talking to kids. 20 and 30-somethings. My father was about 50 and liked the first one when he saw it on DVD. Now, he's 55 and more excited for this than almost anything else this summer.

i guess because i was really excited to see the first hellboy, and it sucked, imo
and this new one just looks not that great, compared to tdk,
idk, we'll have to wait and see, they're both sequels, and like them or not, they both are highly anticipated.

3 days before Batman? Do you live somewhere other than the states or is there something I'm not aware of regarding the release dates of both movies.

Yeah, more like seven days. And Hellboy will be trounced by TDK, but I think any movie would be. I was surprised they made a seuqel to the first one, I didn't know it made enough cash to warrant one. Flop? I don't think so.

No doubt it'll get beat, but I still believe it'll do well since they've been advertising it a lot more than the last one. Plus airings on FX have brought interest. I think it'll do pretty well the first week, a huge drop the second week, and a steady decline after that.

I just saw the Midnight screening of Hellboy II and I have to say this movie kicks major ass. I mean the sheer creativity and boldness in design deserves special effects awards. I also really loved Johann Krauss's character and Abe ofcourse.

Sorry about the 3 day thing, I was thinking Gotham Knight not the Dark Knight. Still its a risky week to open with the Dark Knight looming over the horizon.

I think Hellboy 2 will be a success,might hold it's own against TDK for a while...and I think a third might be made.
