Arad resigned from Marvel nearly two years ago (May 31, 2006). I know he worked on Spider-man and Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer, before leaving the company, so is Iron-man the first official Marvel film without his involvement?

If so, I'd like to emphasise the success of this film without Avi. I don't want this thread to be a "bash Ari" thread, because I think he did some good things for Marvel, and he deserves credit for brining films like Spider-man and X-men to the big screen. But I think it was well time for him to go.

HA! Wow, what a coincidence! :woot:

i believe he was mentioned in the credits as a producer. I remember wondering when i saw his name because i had also heard he had moved on...

I certainly hope he has moved on. Far, far away.
The guy's been screwing up/selling out everything Marvel-related since that abominable Fantastic Four cartoon back in '93.

Nope. Arad is still a producer of all these projects that were set up before he left. Was he not still at all the panels at the conventions?

OK that's what I wasn't sure of. I had read that he was still producing some projects with Marvel, but I didn't know which.

I will say his involvement has been pretty low key for this project. Usually Avi asserted himself front and center, but not on this movie.

i definitely remember seeing his name on the credits.
he's still all up in it.

Basically he's still a producer on all of these movies. He just doesn't work at Marvel Studios anymore.

He's a producer but, I don't think he's involved in the way he used to be with these films. He's not in charge of Marvel comics or Marvel studios anymore so he probably got credit as a consultant and maybe none of his ideas were used. Besides he'll be busy producing Bratz sequels for the next 10 years because he's convinced "Bratz is X-Men for Girls."

What I found interesting is that in Marvel's last conference call, they clearly stated that no outside producers are lined up at this time for future films. This was a direct response to a question about Avi. They sure insinuated that he's done being a producer on any of these films from here on out.

I think its pretty clear though that Avi Arad was a producer on the movies this year and last year.

IMDB lists Arad as a Producer/Exec Producer.
