Iron Man Swank and Jackson confirmed for Iron Man!

Great News! Both Swank and Jackson will bring more star power to the film. This is the kind of star power i like, where good acting will come into play. Sam is pretty much a lock to be playing Nick Fury. As for Swank who she's playing isn't exactly a lock yet. There is the possiability of three characters that she might play.

Black Widow: Probably the most logical choice and the one i'm leaning toward.

Carol Danvers: Possiably, but I she doesn't seem to be the popular choice movie wise as of yet.

Maria Hill: Doubtfull, but wouldn't rule this character out a 100 percent, but the odds are low that she'll appear on the screen.

Swank is a fine actress, and personally I rather see her as Carol Davers then Natasha cuase she fits Danvers to me more then BW, but i wouldn't be upset if she is cast as BW. Swank is attractive and a fine actress, but she's more so looks wise comes across as an attractive, but intelligent woman. Swank isn't really sexy hot, and i think that's what needed for the actress who'll play BW. In the overall it wouldn't be a problem with Swank in either of the roles, in fact it'll be a plus.

Another slim possibility for Swanks cameo role could be Bethany Cabe, Starks eventual head of Stark Security and love interest who also donned the Iron Man armor, but like I said thats a remote possibility.

I just don't like (about the whole sam jackson/nick fury thing) that comics are just being written for actors to play parts in future movies. They're all becoming movie script pitches now.

I don't know if this is a 100 percent the case. As for Sam Jackson as Fury is fine and I've seen no evidence of Hollywood and the comic world working together to tailer make characters to fit actors just for the sake of getting a film done. So far Sam Jackson has been used beucase Miller wanted it. Sam wasn't used for the purpose of making a movie, heck Fury is a suporting character more so then a main hero in my opinion.

Good that they're confirmed...Jon likes to keep everything for this film a surprise, whenever he can. But honestly, with the hints he gave before about who would be getting the cameos, it really seemed like it was going to be Jackson and Swank regardless. Even for just cameos, both are tremendous actors, and make great additions to the cast. Personally, I never even considered Swank for Black Widow...Though seeing the speculation about how she may be playing Natasha, I must say that I wouldn't mind her at all of the role.

William Petersen is the best choice...imo.

I think Black Widow should be the emboniment of super-hotess. So I would be disappointed if Swank is her(even if I think she's a good actress). Natasha is the russian female spy icon, the type every men of the occident lust after. A good choice would be Eva Green, the spy from the last Bond movie Casino Royale.

SJ:Well, because I knew who Nick Fury was when I was a kid and it’s really amazing to me that he actually…he was this white guy who used to be in the Army with this group called the Howling Commandos and as I grew up, he actually grew up to be me in the comic book now. When I look at the comic book I go wow, Nick Fury looks a lot like me now. So I figure it’s got to be interesting to play a guy who used to be white who’s now black and like me.

Petersen as Fury would own (as long as he dropped a few pounds). I'm a big fan of his (To Live and Die in Lie is an underrated classic).

I also love Jackson and the Ulitmates and have no problem seeing SLJ play Fury on screen at some point - but dammit, I wanna see Steranko's Fury up there 1st.

If SLJ's Ultimate Fury get's a movie before 616 Fury; isn't it kinda like Warner's making a movie based of a DC elseworld's title rather than something in continuity?

have the marvel movies ever followed direct continuity solely from either 616 or the ultimate versions. no. so it'd be pretty stupid to have an ultimate fury movie and then a 616 fury movie. these movies are just a combination of both. the ultimate fury might be used for looks but the characterization, etc of him might be 616 in a movie
