One of the reasons I've been enjoying WWE booking lately is they've been involving midcarders/tag teams in the major angles whereas it seemed like in the modern era every angle was running in separate lanes. But this reminds me of the 90's/00's where midcard talent could get the rub just by being involved with the top guys.

I was listening to Stone Cold's podcast with Sean Waltman this week and he was talking about the angle with Razor that introduced him (which I think is one of the most underrated angles ever, it was such a slow burn and accomplished so many things, including a Razor Ramon face turn) and how it put him on the map.

I like Big E. He has personality and a great look and teaming him with Punk against Heyman's guys will help him get over.

Also, I highly recommend watching Bret Hart vs. Waltman (as the 1-2-3 Kid) on RAW from way back in the day, really great match (Bret's look after the first hip toss, a simple friggin LOOK on his face, just sets off this great ongoing storyline in the match).

@NextNolan, can you just watch your NJPW show and then post a review? Making all these back to back posts on a show that no one but you is watching is eating up space and making it difficult for any discussions to actually take place.

-- Bellator MMA confirmed today via press release that Tito Ortiz has suffered a fractured neck injury, and his scheduled PPV main event bout against Quinton "Rampage" Jackson for Bellator 106 on November 2 has been cancelled from the fight card.

As a result, Bellator CEO Bjorn Rebney and Spike President Kevin Kay have opted to move the remaining card for free on Spike TV instead. The card will now air
live on Spike TV at 9PM ET. The three title fights on the card will still go on as scheduled. Bellator 106 will now be headlined by the highly anticipated lightweight title rematch between reigning champion Michael Chandler and former champion Eddie Alvarez.

Bjorn Rebney said on the announcement: "I've said it since the day we announced the fight that Rampage vs. Tito was a fight I had wanted to see for years, and it's unfortunately something I'm going to have to continue to wait to see. After sitting down with our team and partners, the decision was obvious: Give the greatest MMA fans on earth this amazing show live and free on Spike. Our fans have been incredible to us and I'm thrilled to be able to give them this great card on the greatest network in MMA, Spike! Chandler vs. Alvarez II, Mo vs. Newton II and Curran vs. Strauss II are all unbelievable fights. This is going to be a great, great night."

Bellator 106 is scheduled for November 2 at the Long Beach Arena in Long Beach, California.

I kind of like NextNolan's NJPW commentaries. It's kind of like watching a crazy person have a conversation with a ghost.

But in a good way.

:wow: That main event was a prime example of why I love pro wrestling. An absolute storytelling masterpiece. Match of the year for me definitely. Looks like Daniel Bryan has competition for best in the world in Kazuchika Okada.

If Bob Backlund can yell at birds in a park on his spare time, then I should have the right to have a conversation with a ghost while watching indie/NJPW shows.

:hehe:

Is that show you're watching a live ppv or it's already been recorded and up on YouTube?

It took place last Sunday(?) I believe and it's been uploaded to Youtube in parts. I think Dailymotion might have it in full. You can find the full Tanahashi/Okada VI match on Youtube as well.

What's the event's name?,I'll look for it later tonight or tomorrow,It's time for my monthly wrestling catch up with NJPW/AAA&CMLL

I am beyond excited for the Tokyo Dome show in January. Really excited to see where Okada goes from here.

I had no intention of traveling, but two weeks ago, I saw a $200 round trip flight online. It was the red eye and an offer I couldn’t refuse so I booked it. One thing you have to understand about me is I’m scared to death of heights. It’s the very reason I haven’t flown for the past 10 years. The last time I did was for Survivor Series where I had the pleasure of seeing Bill Goldberg kicking Triple H’s ass again in person. All that changed yesterday when I boarded a commercial plane to make another dream of mine come true. I just like to be control of the situation because if something happens in the air, you’re totally fu**ed. I hate that feeling and it makes me queasy during take-off.

The early morning was off to a bad start. The kiosk wasn’t working so I had to wait in line for 20 minutes to get my plane ticket, another 10 minutes to go through security, and a FOUR hour delay because of airline maintenance!!! It was ridiculous so I forced myself to stay awake the whole time so I didn’t risk missing my jet. Then we finally took off so it was a 3 hour flight with another two hours added for time difference. I only got 90 minutes of rest. The flight was shaky halfway through.

I arrived in the Twin Cities at 10 in the morning and immediately had a ham and cheddar omelet for breakfast with the meal voucher the airline gave me to quell my anger. I never been here before and the landscape was beautiful. Around the city were beautiful trees and shiny lakes. It kind of made me not want to go back home as I was enjoying the cold, but peaceful surroundings. A friend of mine who lived in the area was kind enough to pick me up from the airport so I wasn’t charged an arm and a leg by the rip-off taxi cab drivers. It was amazing I was now in the same place that had so much wrestling history with the AWA and those talents who came from this city and state.

She dropped me off at the book store where I would spend the next 9 hours. I took a front row seat for the signing that was scheduled later that evening and set up my camera on my tripod for the best position possible. Afterwards, I read Lex Luger’s book “Wrestling With The Devil” and it was very good to read. It broke my heart hearing The Total Package’s mistakes, but I respect the fact he was man enough to own up to them and make a positive change in his life after his health collapsed.

After that, I dozed off every now and then in the uncomfortable steel folding chair (the manager was okay with it because I told him about my journey to be at his store) and talked with the other patrons that showed up later when I came to. It wasn’t a very good turn-out, but the event wasn’t advertised well in my opinion. Approximately, 115 people came for the release, but it should’ve been double that. Anyway, our guest of honor, who I never met before, arrived right after 7:00pm and talked passionately and humorously for 40 minutes including Q&A in front of his hometown crowd before he started signing for us.

He made sure everybody who purchased his book made it a signed copy and he insisted on personalizing this time (unlike in the past from what I’ve been told). After that, a second line was formed to have anything else that was brought whether it was wrestling merchandise or Hollywood related to also have his signature. He took his time to take care of everybody in attendance.

This is probably the craziest thing I’ve done since driving 5 hours straight just to meet The Ultimate Warrior and Demolition on the same day last year so I wanted to make it special for myself and made sure to be one of the last people in line. He signed three books for me, took two pictures one with and then for me, and recorded a video message for a friend who was unable to come. And then I told him it took me 26 years, two days off work, and a flight across the country for the sole purpose of finally coming face to face with him. He was in disbelief and touched that he meant that much to me and thanked me for coming all the way to see him. He didn’t want to shake hands as he was a germaphobe. He had gotten sick in the past because of that (understandable) so I compromised with him on a fist bump.

I’m home now. Sleep deprived, but safe and sound. Overall, the 5 minutes of facetime I had with him was worth every second of distance and hassle I experienced. Who is this man I speak of that was so difficult to meet that I came all the way to The North Star State for one reason…and one reason only?

Governor Jesse “The Body” Ventura

Its only fitting I met him on the last stop of his book tour in Minneapolis.

Introduction Speech

Q&A

Other notes:

- He didn’t know what his favorite match of his career was, but his favorite match to commentate on was Savage Vs. Steamboat at Wrestlemania III.

- Predator was his favorite film he did.

- He doesn’t keep in touch with Vince McMahon. He doesn’t even have his phone number.

- “They Killed Our President” might be his final book.

He looks like Kane and Jackie Earle Haley had a child. But still a badass. If I ever met him I wouldn't be able to resist asking him if he had time to bleed.
