I think Apocalypse was the best *X-Men* film, but not the best overall film in the franchise. Not sure how I'd rank everything else.

It's an interesting mind game to decide whether TLS or XMO Wolverine is worse.

The Last Stand is a painfully boring movie. But the only things that truly genuinely bother me are what happened to Magneto and the death of Scott. There were some fun little moments (Juggernaut and Leech, maybe, plus I liked Angel). Origins had a cool opening scene, it gets boring with little to bump it up after (Ryan Reynolds as Wade Wilson is defensible and Liev Schreiber is at least charismatic). But, as much as I hate how fans nitpick, the Deadpool at the end was just an odd choice overall.

If anyone is wondering why X-Men and X2 are so low, it is because they really have not aged well at all, especially when compared to a movie like First Class that actually embraces its comic movie roots. X-Men was a great movie in the pre-Avengers era. But now,Singer's whole "I need to make it super realistic, down to Earth, and non-comic booky or audiences won't respond" justification to X-Men and X2 feels shortsighted and cowardly. It also makes the movies feel incredibly safe and boring in retrospect.
