Heh, the top comment on youtube for this?
"They should insert a microchip into condoms that play this sound if the condom breaks." God bless you random youtuber, god bless you.

Don't know if anyone noticed but, there is some really great score music up by the great composer Michael Giacchino!

I've deliberately stayed away from this thread and all spoilers for this flick, but I'm losing the will. The score is sounding phenomenal. The Giacchino.:hrt:

Is it biased if I were to say Giacchino is becoming the John Williams of this generation?(no mention of Zimmer because he's been around since Lion King)

Giacchino has created some amazing themes for being in the game only a few years! Up and Star Trek's scores are some of the best I've heard in recent years.

And if the site music is a sign, Super 8 could have one of the best scores of 2011.

I think he is one of the great composers I love Zimmer up there as well. However I will say that it will be hard for anyone to top Williams. I mean so many of his themes have instant recognition. I would not say that any of Michael's scores have that, nor do people hum them.

Jaws, Indy, Star Wars, Jurassic Park, Superman The Movie, to name some of the themes that most can hum and know right away. I say Michael has potential to be beyond epic, but it will take a lot for anyone to top Williams for a while.

You forgot Harry Potter lol. But yeah, his themes are so timeless and memorable. He is a true legend. And there may be no one like him to compose films ever again.

But I am a firm believer that Giacchino has the power to get close to Williams status. Seriously listen to the score on the Super 8 website! It has this E.T. feel but it feels unique also.

Yea Harry Potter too. I think Michael will be epic and remembered, along with Zimmer, Horner, Shore ect. But it may be hard for one to top Williams scores.

Nice to hear all the great buzz, but for some reason, that teeny tiny sample of Giacchino's score on the website has got me hyped even more. It's gorgeous. :atp:

If he won't meet Williams's level, how can he be the "John Williams of his generation"?

He could be the Michael Giacchino of his generation.

No Dark Tower? Go f**k yourself Abrams! LOST is the last thing you get from me you four eyed piss ant!!
hey Whoa give the guy a chance
what is dark tower anyways !?
the only thing i don't like about super8, it looks like a movie they forgot to produce in the 80's so that's why its called super 8
we see a lot happening but no responsable characters
what is the super 8 ?
invisible tiny SH figurine or what !

i can't read reviews any more...every review i've read this year about any movie i've wanted to see has spoiled things that should've been kept under wraps
like confirmation that it's an alien
:o what's wrong with reviewers lately?

Completely my fault that I read your spoiler tag :csad:

How big is the spoiler there, on a scale of 1 to 10? I clicked but looked away but it looked like 3 or 4 words...so I'm assuming it was a biggie.

they were there for a reason...:csad: either way though
it confirms pretty much 90% of what we all figured anyway, only 5% believed it might be a robot, and another 5% banked on it being some kind of earthly monster by way of govt. experiment or other
<----spoiler based on ign review...those jerks. my advice is to do your best to not read anything, reviews and all, from this point on until we see it...it only took one sentence of a review for me to be somewhat spoiled.

It was sort of big to me since it took away some mystery.

Yeah, never read reviews before a film. For some reason they like to spoil things.

Thanks for the spoiler warning... i'll be sure and stay away from reviews, even if i dont tend to read them much. I want to go into this one blind and see where the ride takes me.

I'm looking forward for the Giacchino score though, cant wait! :awesome:

87% on RT, not bad. Based on the reviews (minus the spoiler that I didn't read) it sounds very promising.

New Super 8 Trailer Launches
http://www.comingsoon.net/news/movienews.php?id=78420

Another look at this Friday's release of J.J. Abrams' latest, Super 8 just premiered at the MTV Movie Awards and you can check out the video in the player below.

Opening in conventional and IMAX theaters on June 10, the film takes place in the summer of 1979 when a group of friends in a small Ohio town witness a catastrophic train crash while making a super 8 movie and soon suspect that it was not an accident. Shortly after, unusual disappearances and inexplicable events begin to take place in town, and the local Deputy tries to uncover the truth – something more terrifying than any of them could have imagined.

Wow why does it feel like no one is talking about this movie now?

I know, it seems strange considering that for the past hour free tickets have been up for grabs.

i hear this movie is'nt tracking well the secrecy bit them in the butt it seems
