Dolph and Rock are terrible actors, b movie action guys, is Reacher just a one dimensional lug in the books? because if he's more than that then at least they cast a real actor in the role to bring something more than being able to beat people up to the table.

Hemsworth is a bit young for the role, but I could see it.

The Sean Bean casting would be fairly awesome, in fact Sean has the right age, look and attitude , he'd be my pick.

Cruise can easily be an unstoppable force, just because he doesn't look the part doesn't me he can't do it.

so who did you want then?

hemsworth?

Which one. Though neither is right. Both are too young. Reacher is a retired military police, headed up several units, rose up to a pretty decent rank, put a superior's he ad through a desk and retired. He's meant to be a big old tough SOB. The type of guy you cross the street to get away from if you are the nervous type. Dolph, Sean Bean, Ray Stephenson, Clint Eastwood in the Dirty Harry days.

Hey, if you are into Tom go for it my interest now is as a curiosity. I wonder it will do well or fail.

Agree to disagree on Rock.

The Rock, while looking nothing like the character could actually get Reahcer's raw intensity, at least if Faster is anythig to go by.

Live Schrieber would be one of the best possible choices too, in terms of build and talent.

My ideal choice would have been Chris Hemsworth hes 6´3 has the right hair color sure he is a bit young but Reacher was 35 in the first book second and third choices would be Alexander Skasgard(sp) hes really willowy I actually think he is 6´5 and the last choice Hugh Jackman.

Ye

Yes, maybe you should start reading. Some cool books. He's not the guy and he's about a foot and a half too short, 100 pounds too light and doesn't even look like the guy.

It may be a cool movie, but I can wait for this

for free on tv rather than pay and be let down.

Oh, and yes I prefer Dolph to Tom. That's a silly question. And its not just that Dolph. And I are apart of the same Karate organization (Kyokushin, IKO1).

Well, I certainly hope you aren't attending the same acting classes he does... :hehe:

I was underwhelmed by the trailer. And no, it's not because Cruise is portraying Reacher. Cruise's portrayal of the character will simply be a portrayal, an interpretation. It won't affect the way I read/imagined Reacher in the books. It's just that Cruise doesn't come across as imposing, I don't like the emphasis on the muscle car and the Mission: Impossible-style music. But I'm still looking forward to this and not just because I'm a fan of the book series, I'm excited to see McQuarrie helming his feature-film debut in addition to the excellent supporting cast.

looks good, but i'd prefer 'One Shot' as the title.

The chords reminded me of Mission Impossible as well lol.

Btw this is not McQuarries feature film debut, that was 'The Way of The Gun'.

S***, I knew that. I was meant to write second feature-film. :wall:

Jack Reacher is a terrible title.

It's like calling the next Jack Ryan film.."Jack Ryan".

Heck, image if they made Raiders of the Lost Ark now. It would have been called "Indiana Jones". Or with Bond.."James Bond".

Technically Raiders' sequels were called "Indiana Jones" :oldrazz:

I got around to seeing the trailer in HD, I think it looks good, the palette of the film is great and it reminds me of a 70's stripped down thriller.

I see what some people are saying. Tom just doesn't look intimidating. He even looks small behind the wheel of that muscle car

It looks more like Ethan Hunt stopped in a small town to take of some business

My choices

-Kurt Russell
-The Rock although it would probably be "Walking Tall part 2"

-John Cena

Or John Carter....

:csad:

Seriously, Disney? :o

The trailer looks like M:I crossed with some of the grittiness of the bourne franchise.

I think that was the plan for a while.

If there were any justice, Stephen Lang woulda been cast as Reacher. Even though Cruise is pushing 50, he still looks like he could past for 35, 40 at the oldest. Reacher's not elderly, but he is aged. Hell, even Neeson would have been a better choice.
