Jackie Chan said Tuesday that an action movie starring Jet Li and himself is nearly a sealed deal.

"All the hurdles have been overcome. The only problem left is the script," Chan told The Associated Press after a press conference to promote his new action comedy, Rob-B-Hood.

"We need a script that he approves and I approve. If that goes well, shooting will start in March or April in Shanghai," he said.

"It will be more American-style. It will be more suited to foreign audiences than Chinese audiences," he said about the plot. "If you make a Hollywood movie, of course you have to follow their wishes. They're paying us so much money."

This sounds great. I've been waiting for a Chan/Li movie.

What do y'all think?

Can't wait to see it. Even if it's not a vs. movie, I hope they fight each other at least once.

This is great. Drop the Tucker. Pick up the Li.

Both of them in the same movie is an Action movie guy's wet dream.

Rush Hour 3 is being filmed befre this gets started. Early 2007 will be the end of Rush Hour 3 and start of this flick.

Exactly. Drop the Tucker. Pick up the Li.

I'd say it's not that close, look Indy 4, a script is very important.

I hope Chan plays a villian for a change.

I imagine they probably decided on a "team-up" rather than a "versus" movie. I can't imagine Jet playing a bad guy for two straight movies since he doesn't really like playing the villain role (even though he's good at it) and he's already the villain in the upcoming movie Rogue with Jason Statham. If they do somehow fight I bet it would just be a little one minute scuffle with no winner of course ;)

Ah, hell yeah.

And if they do fight.... all I'll say is Chan better kick Li's ass. ;)

i thought Li stoped doing action movies with his last movie Fearless

shame this didn't happen a few years ago when they were younger, still should be fun if it gets made

yeah, IF....this has been a rumor for years:(

thats awsome, cant wait, we need some more action jackie chan films becsue he needs to stop with the family ones, lol

i hope its rated R.....

i just had a martialartsgasm!!!!!

i'm not so sure about filming it the American way....Chan and Li's greatest films where both done in their prime when they were doing Hong Kong movies. either way...if this comes to fruition, i'll be watching this opening day.

anyway...Chan's latest movies haven't been great and Li seems to have lost his interest in doing movies so i hope these 2 great martial arts movie masters can go out with a bang!

It'll be interesting to see what kind of movie it will be. Chan's American movies are all action-comedies. Li's American movies have been action-dramas. Considering their target market is not Chinese I don't know what kind of movie this will be.

...I thought Fearless was Li's last movie also....

Jet Li said Fearless would be his last "martial arts" film meaning a film that's SOLELY based around martial arts and its principles such as Fist of Legend, Shaolin Temple, Tai Chi Master, etc.

Li maintains that he will continue to do action films (not the typical period martial arts films) where the martial arts won't BE the story but just serve as a trait of whichever character he's playing.

Yeah, they'll be more along the lines of Romeo Must Die and Cradle 2 The Grave.

Maybe it'll be another Chinese cop drama.
Oh well, if written right, it could be great (though it's been done SO MANY times)
