Sister battling leukemia for years and Keanu takes almost sole care of her.

Brother has been in and out of jail his entire life.

His best friend, River Phoenix died of a drug overdose just when they're both really starting to see their dream of being movie stars unfold.

His partner becomes pregnant with their first child...stillborn. Struggles to help wife's near suicidal depression (as well as his own) but their relationship falls apart. Then, a year later she's killed in a car accident.
