Pfft the world is not enough my friend.

I'm On Her Majesty's Secret Service...but I bet the mods will be all Dr. No...And the idea will live to Die Another Day...

Oh well, as they say...Live And Let Die :)

No don't Rodrigo we need to find the man with the golden gun. He'll do it.

Steve you killed it now. Me and Rodrigo were trying to put all Bond films into our posts.

Yeah...Anyway I've got no numbers on the Thunderball, so I'm off to the Casino Royale, and if I win, I'll cruise around til I find a nice Octopussy to play with :)

Some of its just fun speculation but some people really seem to think that a 50 year old Craig is the same as a 50 year old Roger Moore. Like Craig's gonna hit fifty and gain 40 pounds, need a toupee and get an artificial hip.

The times have changed, folks. Roger hit 50 in a very different time. Research and knowledge about nutrition and physical health and maintenance wasn't then what it is today. Craig could play Bond for 10 more years easily and still be in great shape. Hell if he was crazy enough to devote the time and cash he could stay in great shape and have the stamina for Bond even at 60. It won't be age that makes him leave the role. It will be because he is simply tired of the role, or because EON wants to give Bond a new face to gain back the hype of a new Bond.
Ah, that makes sense Marvolo. Thank you.

And very well put. The times have changed and with the right routine, Craig could easily have another decade in him. Just look at Tom Cruise. He has never been more of an action star, and he just turned 52.

Now all that being said. It would be nice if they tried to hurry up a bit with the turn around on these films. 4 films in 9 years isn't exactly speedy.

I always want the incumbent to stay as long as possible but more so with Craig. He's the absolute perfect Bond for these times. The franchise is in very strong hands with him.
I have never agreed with you more AnneFan. Craig's Bond has made me fall in love with the franchise in a way I didn't think possible. I want him around for a very, very long time. He fits is the perfect fit for this era's Bond. He is this era's Bond.

How many live threads would the forum sustain? I expect the following:

Next movie news
Favourite Bond
" " movie
" " novel
" " villain
" " girl
" " car/gadget
" " theme

Only the first two threads are likely to be regularly updated. I would happily be proven wrong, however.

There would be so much for us to discuss. And I expect debates over those other topics. Voting and all that.

Oh Rodrigo you'll cry and go to you Quantum of Solace after you lose all your money at the Casio Royale.

Yes but, since only about five people would participate, it would probably run its course in a couple of weeks.

5 people?

Is there only 5 people that post in here? Bloody hell. I thought it was more popular than that.

Craig definitely made me a fan. Until 2006 I didnt even really acknowledge Bond existed. I knew of him but just had zero interest in the character. I was all about Star Wars LOTR, and Harry Potter. But then I heard about this new blonde Bond and that ruckus and then I saw the Casino Royal trailer and then another and then tv spots so by the time the film came out me and my whole immediate family were planning to go see it. Arrived at the theater still pretty ambivalent towards it all. Just expected another action movie. Well, by the time "You Know My Name" stopped blaring through the theater speakers it had my attention. By the end of the foot chase scene I was on the edge of my seat. And when Craig said, " The names Bond. James Bond." to Mr. White I had become a fan.

I still remember the theater errupting into applause after this scene:

Craig will always be my Bond.

And the autopilot, publicly expected comments of how awful Roger Moore is. When he is in fact a genius at the style he went for. Only three Bonds have truly made the role their own for me, and that's Moore, Connery and Craig. Dalton did leave a legacy, however I don't think he has the same forceful, screen stealing presence of Craig.

Craig made me a fan, too. But I was well aware of Bond before hand. Growing up, almost every year here on TV they'd have "Bond Season" where, over the course of several weeks they'd show one Bond film every evening. So I had been exposed to most of them, but they never really grabbed me.

Casino Royale & Skyfall are the only ones I own on DVD.
