James Bond In Skyfall - Part 3

The problem Is this could be Q In name only.especilly since they cast a younger guy as Q.It may not even be same classic Q character but Like Die Another Day calling another character Q.

So far I haven't heard much that leads me to think this Is a classic Bond film like Danial Craig and Sam Mendes have said Inless their Idea of classic Bond Is Casino Royale.

Things are always changing. It's about keeping the integrity of the franchise without comprising a fresh take too. For example, 'Arrack the Block' did a better job at being Spielbergian with a new take, more so than Super 8 (in which I liked too.)

Being a purist is not bad at all but they shouldnt be so ridgid and absolute in their expectations.

In From Russia with love would be great to see.If Ralph Fienners Is plyaing Blofeld(and that Is still a big If) he might be a shadowy puppet master who never crosses path with
Bond like In From Russia With Love.Hopefully Bond will be back to womanzing ways and sleep with a couple of women during the film(although QoS did start to move In that direction with Fields) and maybe one could be bad(It would be nice nodd to Live and Let
Die If Naomie Harris was double agent working for Bardem and killed after Bond seduces
her and they sleep together) q's role might be smilar to From Russia with Love.Show up,and simply Instructe bond On the gadget he IS assigned on Mission.

Nice to hear what role that helen lady will be playing. As for q for all we know the character may have some differences from old. Also for all we know he may not go by. The code name q but could go by the character's real name.

PAH Casino Royale is the closest thing to the books James Bond, no need to take a step back now we finally have something faithful to the source material

I say it should be more a mix. I think the perfect tone of Bond would be like Brosnan's movies (tone, not storywise) but a little more serious.

And having some classic Bond elements would not be a step back Spidey.

I remember reading that (I think it was Tarantino) he wanted to make a James Bond movie, but set in the 50's.

He was the first person who wanted to make a period piece version of Casino Royale.

I don't know, I don't think period piece Bond movies are the way to go. I think a period piece movie would set the series back.

The first time I read about Tarantino wanting to do Casino Royale, a long time ago, he was daydreaming about setting it in the '50s and casting Daniel Day-Lewis as Bond.

Spy pics of the filming of scene 172 of Skyfall show Bond on a rooftop, having shaved off the stubble he's had in previous pictures. These pictures may be bigger spoilers than they seem, given how late in the film this would be. By comparison, Bond was waking up in the hospital post-torture in scene 172 of Casino Royale.

I don't know if it's been discussed, but I saw TWINE yesterday and it got me to thinking how much the Craig era is starting to resemble the Brosnan era.

Film 1: An exciting reintroduction to Bond with a charismatic performance from a newcomer directed by Martin Campbell in a throwback to the Connery era (GE being more Goldfinger and Casino Royale being more From Russia With Love).

Film 2: A rushed-into-production follow-up in which the Broccolis feel so confident with the success of their new 007 that they don't bother thinking of things like a completed script. Instead, it's wall-to-wall action with some clever, but underused social satire. Fans rush to it and leave deflated going...."well that's not as good as the last one...."

Film 3: To make up for the all-action follow-up, they hire a dramatic director with little experience in action filmmaking whose hit a creative wall in their dramas (Michael Apted and Sam Mendes). To show their hearts are looking for a deeper place to go, they decide to give M a major role in which her history comes back and Bond gets embroiled in her personal drama.

Here's hoping Skyfall is not just "solid" like TWINE which would lead to...well we all know what came next.

It is something that I have definitely thought of as well.

Of note, the series hasn't had back to back great films since the 60s. It has been inconsistent quality for decades.

Nope, judging by what was said at the press conference, Craig isn't going anywhere after 23.

ya he probably will end up doing at least 2 more all counting on how quickly they can get films up. He probably would have been on 4th film by now if the mgm troubles didnt happen.

Craig looks so tough in that pic. Really he is the scariest bond..yet still considered handsome.

A combo of bringing back the more classic Bond-film points and continuing on the more Bond-book tone set in CR and QOS would be perfect.

If Skyfall is great then Craig's Bond might turn out to be my favorite Bond-era ever. I mean I love Connery era I really do. But Casino Royale is my favorite action-flick of the last decade and the most emotional Bond film ever which for me gives it such a great extra dimension and heart comparing to most of the other ones. And I also think QOS while nowhere near as good is actually underrated.

Anyone comparing Craig-era films to Brosnan-era should be ashamed. Yes I like Goldeneye alot and TWINE is solid. But these new films knock them both out of the water, imo.

I believe in Skyfall. Might be the best Bond-cast ever, most talented Bond-director ever (not saying he will be the best though) and a return to more classic Bond-film traits while maintaining the new more gritty tone.

Add to that also the awesome that is Daniel Craig as James Bond. What an amazing combo of badass and charm when he has that mode on.
