I have the next week off work so I'm hoping there wont be too many kids there during the day so I can see this again in IMAX

thi smight be the only time (other than review screenings) I go to the cinema on my own

Not shocked. Their involvement have increasingly been declining with every following Bond film. In fact, I don't recall any interviews with them about Skyfall..

At best, they've been more like 'story credit' types as of late while better writers like Logan get hired to rework their stories.

Well, the one thing I liked about Purvis and Wade was that they knew their Fleming and tried to respect the stories and characterizations of the novels. (the main plot of Die Another Day was a surprising faithful adaptation of Moonraker the novel) However, their ability to write quality screenplays drawing upon their knowledge of Fleming is questionable at best.

It seems we are getting a good, all-around Bond screenwriter in Logan. I believe I read somewhere that Logan had just re-read the Fleming novels for personal enjoyment on his own time before Mendes brought him in on Skyfall.

Craigs jacket is nice
If we want a black hero or whatever, then give us a motion picture of Luthor!!! Just leave Bond to be what he is!
There is one coming.

They are doing a third season of Luther then a movie :woot:
I think Bond should stay white because he's always been established as a white Englishman (yes I know there are black Englishmen), just as Bruce Wayne, Peter Parker, and Clark Kent are established as white men and Blade is established as a black man.
Blade should be a Black Englishman as well going by the comics

It seems like they have great ideas but their actual writing is not very good. TWINE and DAD had great concepts but they were absurdly dull despite some of the interesting fantastical elements.

Anybody familiar with this already? The lost james bond film proposal of the 70's that was gonna bring back connery even earlier as a rival to moore.

Pretty interesting read. That Kevin McClory guy comes off as a dick and it's crazy how his lawsuit actions in the 60's were felt all the way up to casino royale.

Thanks for that, interesting and funny read. That McClory was a strange fella.

Havent clicked on the link but is that the movie in New York that had robotic sharks fitted with laser beams or something [to be used later in Austin Powers]. From what I can remember it was designed to be farcical, bordering on spoof [again, much like Powers] so I'm glad they didnt make it.

And Luthor's back for a 3rd series? Nice - count me in!!!

Yes it is that one.

Well in that case.....>ugh< To all those folk who think that Diamonds are Forever is awful - it couldve been a whole lot worse.

The fight on top of the Statue of Liberty would have been nice though.............in a future Craig movie!

Maybe it's my english, but when you say "to those who think X or Y is bad, imagine it could've been worse" doesn't it mean something along the lines of "Don't complain, we didn't get the worst"?

If not, ignore my previous comment.

Yes ignore it, because it doesn't.

Fair enough. One learns something new every day.

Dissapointed. Berenice beautiful, Shanghai scenes hypnotic, action so-so and Bardem wants to be something special but... he's not. Plus that climax is absolutely stupid. CR and QoS are better. 6/10

I have a huge, huge problem with that scene with CG lizards. After that moment I felt like I lost any interest in Skyfall.

 .........Anyway I probably wont see the film for a week which is dissapointing.
