There were no solid plans for Baron Samedi, but at the time they wanted to use him for another film, but just didn't. Either way, I still think that's cool ending.

Wow. It makes you wonder how EON managed to f**k that up so badly.

Why I stay away from the movies. In DAD alone we have the Asian Despot villain from Colonel Sun (now named Colonel Moon in the movie), the villain in plain sight who changes identities from Moonraker and you have the villain's fortress being an ice castle from Icebreaker.

That's bits and pieces from 3 novels. Non of them adapted, just cut to bits and made way less impact-full out of context within their story and the entire Bond arc as a whole. Sometimes it makes them truly hard to watch, it's like they are mixing up pages in their novels.

Ian did quite a few short stories. Some of his Bond short stories as well as the short stories of subsequent authors showed up in Playboy Mag. His short stories are collected for the most part in For Your Eyes Only and Octapussy & The Living Daylights. They also repackaged a bunch to tie in with QOS titled Quantum Of Solace.

Yes. Why? Came out to celebrate Ian's Centenary. Special seal on the cover and all new reprints that year and all.
