DC Television James Gunn's Suicide Squad Spinoff ‘Peacemaker’ Starring John Cena on HBO Max

Don’t get me wrong I liked the first 5 episodes of season 2 but this season is clearly about the final 3 episodes. Love the final shot of the top trio flying with Eagly. Eagly the Prime Eagle. Paramount is buying DC Studios :astonish: :woozy: :-)

I don’t know much about Sasha as a character but the cyborg reveal could hint towards her being an OMAC, which she apparently is in the comics and OMAC was featured in that Blue Beetle movie (that I didn’t watch lol). Screencrush also mentioned that at least one version of OMAC uses Brainiac’s tech. It all could be connected.

Anyway, I loved The OMAC Project during Infinite Crisis and always thought that could be a cool ccrossover type event for a movie or a TV series.

Yeah I was thinking that her bionic woman abilities was a hint at Brainiac. I am starting to believe………

I know this season is all about acceptance of life as it is and reconciliation with oneself, but I can't help but think Peacemaker would be better off in that other universe, because frankly, his life sucks. I kinda wish this episode served as a finale, so that Peacemaker can maybe come back in some multiversal crossover in the future.

Loving the wacky Eagly subplot :tearsofjoy::tearsofjoy:

I disagree! It's part of his character arc; he must learn to accept his reality and work to improve it instead of replacing it with somebody else's reality. Also, it's pretty clear by now that the other, "perfect" world is not quite perfect haha.

It cool that they introduced them so early. I heard she was a cyborg in the comics but I figured if they ever got to that here, it would be further down the road.

I hope we get a Checkmate spinoff of some kind. It wouldn’t be hard to do and Sasha and Peacemaker both factor into that faction. Plus Gunn also has plans for Deathstroke, who could also appear as either an antagonist or a protagonist in Checkmate. And Gunn seems to have a real affinity for popular DC characters and story arcs from the 80s and 90s.

Now all Gunn has to do is quash his beef with Anson Mount and cast him as King Faraday.

Yeah, Checkmate with Waller and Mr. Terrific as the leads is probably the secret streaming series that is in development. Straight out of the comics.

Seeing Adrian cry like that after finding out Chris left them for the alternate earth really got to me in a way I wasn’t expecting. The usually goofy and unhinged characters breaking down emotionally and becoming sad really makes my heart hurt. 😢

Knowing Gunn’s past work, those first five episodes of set up and character development are really going to pay off in a really big way in these final three episodes of the season.

Speaking of which, thinking back to all of the footage we got in those trailers, I can think of only a few shots we haven’t seen yet they are from the last three episodes. They really are hiding something big.

For a guy who admitted shooting people for graffitis and smoking pot and who had no problem blowing an entire family's brains off with no context, it's the least he deserves if we're being honest.

Eagly's subplot reminds me of Perry the platipus from Phineas & Ferb!

Turns out they share the same voice actor. Haha.

I don't think so. It's simply that season 2 is a bit more introspective and melancholic than the first one. More grounded in the character development. I feel like the season is about Chris' internal struggles.

But the last three episodes will very likely make for a bombastic showdown and pay off of that.

We haven't seen all of it yet. And you're making the same mistake as Peacemaker in the series. Is his life perfect? No. Is he better off now than when he was a lonely, delusional goon? Hell yeah! He's got friends now. People who actually care about him. He was an inprisoned fool when we first met him. And even after he killed Rick jr. he got a second chance, and is not really realizing that.

Yes, his brother is still alive and his father seems to care about him there. But our tragedies make us who we are. And wishing for PerfectLand won't lead to a more fulfilling life. And I'm pretty sure the same can be said about Chris when all is said and done.

Yeah, I also think that Waller is going to be converted into a Checkmate series.

And it's likely gonna be the next "big one" for Frank Grillo (or maybe that's Man of Tomorrow).

Just makes to much sense. They won’t keep the great Viola Davis sidelined for to long. I have a feeling that eventually her daughter will become the “Wall” that we love to hate from the comics and animated series. She seems to be so caring. I think she will start to change and become her mother eventually.
