James McTeigue Reveals Next Project, The Raven

Ok then.

I'll stop trying to enlighten anyone for today and let everyone stay in the dark. Don't say I didn't try and help.

Goodbye.:sleepy:

Old or new shouldn't matter. Good is what should matter.

V For Vendetta is one of my favourites. I told myself I would watch anything James McTeigue makes. Then I heard Ninja Assassin was freakin' terrible and I'm afraid to watch it.

The only good thing about Ninja Assassin is Naomie Harris.

And can Cusak grow facial hair? It doesn't look like he can.

lol when looking through that giant list of names I had to laugh at bit because they really are making a Freud movie, WITH VIGGO MORTENSON

This premise seems shakey but Cusak is awesome.

That's the most I've ever seen him with.

Btw I really love this video...I like what guy in the end suspects happened to Poe

Truly a creepy way to go out for a horror/thriller writer

That would be funny if that guy ended up being right. :woot:

But still creepy... :wow:

I thought I read sometime ago RDJ was being sought for playing Poe in a more biographic type film.

I'm not a fan of the premise. Yeah, Poe's last days are a bit of a mystery, but we can be sure they didn't involve playing cat and mouse with a serial killer. And while Poe wrote a few mysteries, they weren't serial killer stories. So, other than some easter eggs, I have serious doubts that the movie version is going to tell us anything about Poe's works or much about the man.

But, it still might be a fun story. And I think Cusack is an interesting choice. So, while I'd much rather see someone adapt The Alienist for a period, serial killer piece, this still could be entertaining.

I've always thought John Cusack was half asian, ever since I was a kid, putting him into the same category as Keanu Reeves. Boy I was wrong, since he's 100% Irish.

Yeah, to be directed by none other than Sylvester Stallone.

As for this film, hopefully the script wont be written in a weekend like Ninja Assassin apparently was.

That sounds interesting. I think Stallone could handle that he has directed alot of his own movies, including his latest one.

I think a Poe fillm requires a guy like David Fincher or Mcteigue to film...I just hope its more along the lines of V for Vendetta and not Ninja Assassin.

I also think Jeremy Renner or James Macvoy would have been excellent choices to play too...Cusack can be hit or miss, but he does good thrillers.

I really liked him in Identity

Actually if Poe is filmed and not being done by Stallone as rumored, I think Frank Darabont is a good choice. Her has a knack for directing a 'story' in an old period. To me what he has done with Shawshank, Green Mile & the Majestic, proves he can do it.

Good choice!

I wouldn't count on Stallone being interested, he's tied a up with The Expendables 2 and Hunter.

TY for your vote. I didnt know Expendables 2 was already a go,lol. Not sure what HUnter is either.

Stallone shouldn't direct anything but action movies, or at least films where people get punched. Have you ever seen Staying Alive?

But anyway, Cusack as Poe is awesome. I love him even more now for what he said about Fox News yesterday. :applaud

Stallone was seriously considering this movie?

I can't imagine Stallone sitting down and reading Poe in his reading glasses and expensive burgandy robe by the crackling fire and sipping wine.
