Horror James Wan's "The Conjuring"

It's not exactly a secret they're a bunch of con artists. James Wan just makes good movies and makes highly fictionalized versions of them likable.
Agreed. James, Jason Blum and the folks at WB and Blumhouse are not to blame here. They're just trying to make good movies with the material given. The problem is the real-life Warrens have proven to be money-grubbing jerks. They were barely involved in the actual Einfield Poltergeist case, and yet they forced WB and Blumhouse to write the movies the way THEY wanted it. That's unfair, especially coming from someone like me who actually wants to believe, shall we say!

Big warning, guys: The Conjuring 3's plot is based off a big fat lie this time. No, really. This must be why James Wan bailed. Don't buy into this one. The Warrens are out to scam you!

So is the first and second one though. I think the real Perron family from the first movie had reported that the haunting never stopped after the The Warrens came by to do their Exorcism, the Warrens only went to the Enfield home for one day and didn't do anything in real life. Also the real life Janet Hodgson admitted to faking a lot the possession. I'm pretty sure James Wan knows that none of the cases the Warrens did were real. That's why the Annabelle doll was redesigned to look more sinister and there is a demon nun in The Conjuring.

Wait...so you are telling me these movies based on true stories...are...FAKE?!

True fake stories, yes.

Still would like to see Wan take a crack at Amityville and the Snedecker haunting.

They are partly to blame for making the Warrens the heroes of these films.

They're batting 3/5 with the Conjuring Universe so far. The two Wan directed Conjuring movies were great. The 2nd Annabelle was also a good effort by Sandberg(Lights Out, Shazam). I knew the first Annabelle was going to disappoint because the director had a questionable resume(Mortal Kombat Annihilation and Butterfly Effect 2). Same goes for the Nun - I never understood why Corin Hardy's previous film attracted as much hype as it did. The Hollow was not good...and yet I heard every horror blogger talk it up back in 2015. It left me dumbfounded. I could understand why Lights Out was a hit - the plot was an old hat shadow monster gimmick but Sandberg did some interesting things behind the camera. Corin Hardy did nothing for me with The Hallow. I never understood why Wan hired him in the first place. The Nun was predictably forgettable.

They are batting 5/5 where it counts, the box office, but true only 3 good to great movies. Hopefully they don't bungle it. Annabelle: Creation was a pleasant surprise. I really like that movie. The Nun was a huge, huge, huge, huge letdown. I gave that movie a decent rating because it wasn't flat out horrible, but I really had higher hopes that an "okay" horror movie, especially coming off A:C. Strangely, I have similar high hopes for Conjuring 3 even though Wan isn't directing it because he was impressed with working with Michael Chaves on his upcoming film La Llorana. So we'll get a sneak peek as to what he will bring to the table this April.

I can't believe we are now to Annabelle 3 before the Conjuring 3.

Both have made it to their third movie, so what does it really matter?

Considering the reception for LLrona giving this director this movie will probably prove to be a mistake

The Curse of La Llorona is getting eviscerated by the critics. This doesn't bode well for The Conjuring 3.

I'm looking forward to this one as i love the first movie and enjoyed part 2 but NOT the spin-offs which are just moneygrabs, this is a proper sequel to the franchise.

They should have called it the Conjuring 3 or something shorter.

The title just reminds me ofa Taylor Swift song.

Yeah, I kind of hate when they change a numbered series by the third film in this case. See also How to Train Your Dragon. Wait at least till the fourth.

Agreed about the bad title. It sounds like something you would use if you were making a spoof movie...

I don't really pay attention to critics and felt the movie was alright but kind of forgettable. Watched it about three months back. It was nice seeing Raymond Cruz in a different type of role since he usually gets cast as bad guys and thug types.
