Not a fan of the Crow/Ledgeoker cut smiles etc, but the manip by "fearmaster" shows how close Leto is already to the facial structure of the character as seen in the comics. Makeup need only do a very little to make him look perfect.

Most folk think it's all to do with the lips after seeing Heath.
It's about how far one can grin and what he'll look like. I'm not talking Jack style with the perma smile. All he needs to do is lose some weight, which will thin out his face, making it smaller, which will then make his smile, which is already big enough, to appear wider.
Then, add the prosthetics to increase the lines, perhaps even something to pull back his cheeks to show his gumline. That's where I figured CGI could be useful, but it's not necessary.

All he needs is something to increase his already manic look.

But I tried to picture him more Joker like. Along the lines of how I would like prosthetics to make him look

If they were to make him more comicbooky.

The Joker is bigger than Heath Ledger just like Batman is bigger than any actor who plays him. Actually none of these CBM actors own any role they play. We all loved comics before they were portrayed on screen.

Hopefully this Joker is ruthless and kills a couple/hurts several Meta-Humans. Maybe he killed Commissioner Gordon or he'll paralyze Batgirl in the solo Batman film.

Yeah. There has to be SOME manipulation besides the make-up. Heath's prosthetics and make-up were minimal compared to Jack, and you still couldn't recognize him.

I think they should add stuff to give him lines, make less baby faced. Make his nose pointy and perhaps add a little to his chin to lengthen his face.
