He's definitely going to need prosthetics. You can add all the red, green and white to him all you like, but he still doesn't look like Joker...

Makeup alone would make a much bigger impact than merely desaturating a photograph, but I agree he should be given a few minor prosthetics.

He doesn't need the permanent smile or the Glasgow smile, just a really intense one.

Because even when Jared smiles as far as he can, it's still not enough. It doesn't scream "Joker"

Fair enough, I just thought you came across as a touch flinty.

Not intentional if I did. I just challenge people's opinions with some kind of back up if what they're saying sounds false or doesn't make sense.

TDK used The Joker to great effect as a villain who appears at will and wreaks havoc, but I think it would be interesting to see something of this theatrical character "behind the scenes". In Dark Detective we were shown The Joker's creepy, shambling suburban house. I would love to see him effectively "working from home" in a movie.

I find this is a trope of many Batman villains, not just the Joker. Taking some ordinary place and turning it into "home" or a base.

Penguin perverts innocent umbrellas into deadly weapons, and in turn sometimes uses umbrella factories as a base. Likewise he turns harmless birds into trained attack birds that peck people's eyes out Alfred Hitchcock style, and he uses innocent aviaries as a base. Two Face has transformed homes and buildings into split bases where half of the place is normal and the other half is all wrecked to symbolize his half scarred visage and split nature. The Mad Hatter perverts hats as weapons and devices of mind control, and might turn a hat shop into a base. Mr Freeze will turn just about anywhere into a refrigerated base etc.

I don't know if I buy into Jared being a *****e...

Reading up on him also reveals a plethora of stories that show a bad side to him, hence why he has a reputation for it. Big deal. Many celebrities are unpleasant people. What does it matter? It's got no bearing on how he will perform as the Joker. This pointless discussion was let go and buried and the thread was back on Joker related topic. Please stop trying to derail it by bringing it up again. It's unnecessary and annoying.

What if they go by the Ace Chemical's side? one of his temporary "bases", depending on his plan would be one of AC factories? (I don't think he's the guy who sticks with one base)

Giving Joker a hide-out would be an effective differentiation from the last Joker we got in the movies. It would be great to spend time with him when he's hatching plans and messing around with his goons. Heath's Joker basically appeared out of nowhere every time it was on screen and it worked because of the mystery surrounding the character.

I can't think of a fancy hide-out right now... maybe just an abandoned building somewhere? Or he's in Arkham the whole movie and he doesn't need a hide-out.

Yeah, I would love to see him cackling to himself in a filthy room lit by a single buzzing light bulb, bent over a desk strewn with test tubes and beakers of evil-looking toxins.

I would love to see his decayed house, but a theatre, a funfair, a chemical factory etc could all be great.
