First Look: Avengers Three

e9jl9u.jpg

In 2011, the best-selling creative team of Jeph Loeb and Ed McGuinness reunites to take on Earth's Mightiest Heroes!

The writer and artist who brought you HULK will guide Iron Man, Thor and the original Captain America on an epic adventure through time and space in the AVENGERS THREE limited series.

For more news on AVENGERS THREE, keep checking right back here on Marvel.com!

what the hell is up with IM's arm

If you would have told guys like Corpy a year or two ago, that there was going to be an Avenger title with the Big Three on it again BUT it would be written by the same guy who gave us Red Hulk and all his gems from Wolverine: I betcha they might actually break down and cry.

And IM's arm is messed up....

I usually like McG but that picture is not good. And I avoid Jeph Loeb when he writes for Marvel.

I was just thinking "you know, there aren't enough Avengers books out there."

"epic adventure through time and space"?

Looks too chubby these three

on an epic adventure through time and space....hahahaha oh my god I almost said that with a straight face....nah we are just milking the movie Avengers and you'll buy it because its the movie Avengers.....hahahahaha....I havent had a laugh like this since we announced Brand New day was ending and I watched everyone get happy thinking we were putting Pete and MJ back together...hahahaha

Thor, Iron Man, and Cap don't even bother me that much. The fact that the Destroyer is looming over them does. F***ing up Thor himself, whatever, he's proven durable enough to withstand all the s***ty writing he's received in Avengers and other comics over the years. But I shudder to think of Loeb being let loose on Thor's whole world and his whole cast of secondary characters and villains. It's like the announcement that Bendis would write Siege all over again. That turned out well, but Loeb's even worse than Bendis. I'm... I'm scared... :csad:

It probably killed McGuinness to draw Iron Man cuz he couldn't add his trademark 100 extra pounds of muscle :p

SHEESH Not that I'm not lovin all the Thor and prime Avengers team having another book but this is getting a bit much.
How many Avengers titles are there NOW counting mini's?

Eh Loeb's not awful on Thor, juust incredibly mediocore. It's a "warrior god" + Conan the Barbarian arch type he does.

I bet it will be six issues of the Avengers Three going around and fighting random people for no reason whatsoever and with little explanation as to why.

What sucks for me, is that I actually REALLY like McGuinness' art. And I've had to watch it be wasted for years on Jeph Loeb's talentless, brainless writing.

I usually like McGuinness' art, but it looks kind of terrible in that promo pic. Thor, Cap, and Iron Man all look like misproportioned blow-up dolls because of their awkwardly tiny hands vs. their distinctly huge bodies.

Oh yeah, the promo pic definitely isn't his best.

From what I've seen though, all of his work on Rulk was really good. Despite the story blowing.

I read the issues with Thor (to my eternal regret). The art was certainly the best thing about them by far.

Your love of Thor overwhelmed your good sense and logic, eh?

Hey, if he appears in something, I'll at least give it a try. I should clarify that I only actually bought the first issue. Someone posted scans of the second issue and I was very happy I decided not to buy it (even though Thor does come back and kick Rulk's ass in it).

I've borrowed the trades from a friend of a friend. :o
