JERICHO (what happens when a nuclear mushroom cloud suddenly appears)!

Damn! This thread dropped all the way to page 4 :(

Anyway a good episode tonight ...

-Glad they stuck with last week's ending for the first 5 minutes of tonight's episode. I'm guessing Robert's ppl had something to do with those missile. But still, who exactly are his ppl ?

-It seems that even Eric's mother knows of his affair with the bartender. Hell it looks like the whole town knows of it except for the doctor wife.

-So we finally get some clue to why Jake left town in the first place. Being part of some small gang where one member dies during a botch robbery sounds like a good enough reason to skip town.

-Rod/Robert does some photoediting to include himself in the family portrait .... aaawwwwwww :o The photo he uses is of him standing with a bunch of other military type guys. I guess he was part of some special government unit.

-The ending where everyone comes out to help was corny :D .....:o

Preview to next week's episode ...

Finally, one of the Jericho men who went out to search what was left of the US returns with a update. But of all ppl why did it have to be that prick, the Mayor's rival :cmad: And I might've heard wrong but I think he said NYC was still standing  But I know I heard him say that DC was completely gone.

No.....he refused to go along with the guys who were planning a robbery....and after it went wrong and one was killed, he left town.

Ah ok, I'm behind on one episode, good show though, I always thought he was an international assassin ;)

I was actually disappointed with this episode. Showing the missles firing....and then skipping ahead 2 weeks....didn't work for me. I was liking the way it was progressing up until now...about one day per episode.

For it to be two weeks later....they are extremely unorganised. There should be a decent sized group of new Police recruits to keep order (this is middle America...many would step up to help out). No one is questioning where the food is coming from (the kid finally tells someone other than the store owner that he found the train load of food...and they steal it)...comeon, give me a break. We now are having episodes about....TADAAAAA - HORSE THIEVES.

At the beginning (at the mayor's office)....a bunch of people are in making complaints....you hear one guy in the back complaining about the water line break in his front yard has flooded the area, and wants to know when someone is going to fix it. I want to know....where is the water coming from? To have water in the lines....you have to have a water plant filtering it and pumping it out into the system. This, apparently unknown to the writers....requires electricity to run the equipment....and they state at the beginning of the episode that the EMP has stopped all electricity in the area.

This show is losing me fast. The people in the town need to wake up, they're always talking/worrying about money and petty crap, all their money was wiped out once the EMP hit, they're all broke and need to help each other out to survive. The show needs to open up more, I'm sick of seeing these boring plots where everyone makes it out completely fine. It's too happy, we need a more menacing/darker tone.

Jer_13.jpg

I agree with whoever said a slightly darker tone is needed. It's potentially the end of the world. Food and water supplies may soon run out. There may be more bombs. People are far too chipper and upbeat.

When I saw the first couple episodes, I thought it was good...but didn't see it lasting long. But the show is really picking up and getting better and better.

I don't think it needs a darker tone RIGHT NOW...but I can tell something is building...and I think it's going to take a natural route of a darker and darker tone. Eventually they are going to have to leave the town and go out into the world for supplies...

It's just gonna get better.

From what i've seen from the trailer for the next episode it looks to be getting a lot darker.

I'm not too fond of this show. Its not bad but everythngs is always so melodramatic and serious. It just seems like all the actors are overacting in it

Last night's episode was pretty good.

-The annoying grocery store lady is now doing trade ins. As in trade something good for food from her store. This eventually causes a rif between her & Dale. Who quits his job.

-The mayor's rival returns with what he's been able to find out. According to him, NYC survived because they caught the suspects before they were able to pull the trigger. And D.C. is completely gone. Which causes the IRS woman to lose it for a while as well as Robert's wife. Who apparently had a boyfriend named Doug.

-Speaking of Robert. It looks like before his family came to Jericho. They were living in D.C. before Robert showed up, after a 4-5 year hiatus, and took them away to Jericho.

-The good thing about the mayor's rival returning is his plan to question the new families in Jericho. One of the 10 or so families on his list is Robert's. Who moved in 2 days before the attack. Soon Robert's past will be revealed. :wow:

-The new character introduced this week was Jonas & his gang of thieves. It just so happens to be that Jonas is Emily's father. And the guy name Chris, who was killed during a botched robbery attempt 5 years ago, was her brother/his son. And yah ... Jonas's men came into town and got their guy back. The one who was last seen in jail in last week's episode.

-Jake & Jonas make a deal that'll keep Jonas & his gang from ever coming into town. Like that'll work out :whatever:

- And finally ... Jake's dad falls ill. The town doesn't have the medication that he needs. So it's up to Jake & his bro to go get some. The 2 prepare to venture out to a town 90 plus miles away. And they only got 12 hours to a day to do it. :wow: Well that's according to Eric's doctor wife.

The preview ...

Jake & Eric reached their destination. Only problem is ... so have a team of armed commandos. Well to me they looked like it. :woot:

One of the interesting tidbits from this episode....the mayors rival, when telling about how New York didn't get blown up.....says how the police there caught the people before they could set off the bomb (rules out missles, makes it more terror related)...he says they had it in a metal drum......Hmmmm, couple of episodes ago, Robert went and moved a metal drum when no one could see him....interesting.

there was also a kiss between Jake and Heather which my brother believes was long over due.

Yah I remember that drum Robert had. He took it out of some storage place and hid it in his basement behind some brick wall he put up. I'm starting to think that he probably bailed out on his part of the plan.

Yah when that happened I was thinking "about damn time"

How is it possible for them to make the end of the world so freaking boring? I smell cancellation very soon.

Agreed, watched several episodes and its all inane hum-drum stuff. This episode deals with the milk turning sour, or billy bob's dog going missing, or the bar gets some static on their TV and its filmed as the most important thing ever.

And that wouldn't be 'so' bad if they were actually making interesting character interplay, dialogue and growth during all this. But they literally put all their focus on that bad milk with like 5 minutes at the end left for character stuff. Even then they have decompressed probably a 1 page treatment for a character over 10 episodes.

They need to stop making this Little House on the Prairie - World War III
And make it just about the countries survival.

Ashley Scott Teases Jericho's Explosive Sweeps Shockers!
by Matt Webb Mitovich

http://www.tvguide.com/News-Views/I...osting={547D45BB-D05C-4FD5-B988-87B7873B8459}

Ashley Scott, Jericho
As the star of the WB's short-lived Birds of Prey, Ashley Scott played no less than the love child of Batman and Catwoman. These days, she is contending with an equally far-out yet more sobering role on CBS' postapocalyptic hit drama Jericho (Wednesdays at 8 pm/ET). Will Emily ever find her MIA fiancé, whose plane was found abandoned after the blast? If not, might she restart her romance with Skeet Ulrich's Jake? And what does Em's portrayer know about the super-mysterious Hawkins? Episode 8 of Jericho airs tonight, but at the instant TVGuide.com caught up with Scott, she gushed...
Ashley Scott: I'm reading Episode 12 right now, and it's so exciting! It's so good. So good.

TVGuide.com: I think I've achieved some sort of trifecta here, having already Q&A'd Ali Larter (Heroes) and Amy Smart (Smith) this TV season. Aren't the three of you pals?
Scott: Yeah! Ali and Amy have been best friends for years and years, and I've known Amy for years.

TVGuide.com: How cool is it that Jericho defied the critics who harped, "Who wants to watch a dreary show about the apocalypse?" And here you are, chugging along.
Scott: We are chugging along, and I am so thankful and happy for that. Really, honestly, when I get the scripts, I'm so excited. I'm almost bummed that you guys aren't up to speed with what I know, because it's getting so good. As soon as I read the pilot I knew it was going to do well.

TVGuide.com: They dealt you a great dad in James Remar, eh?
Scott: Yeah! We did this scene last week where he was fantastic. He's got a great story line.

TVGuide.com: Do we see much of Emily in this week's episode, where the boys ride out to Rogue River to track down some meds?
Scott: No, this week is kind of light with Emily, because it takes place more outside of Jericho. They go out there to see what the world's like, and it's pretty devastating.

TVGuide.com: But next week, the CBS press release says, "Emily wakes up on the day she was supposed to be getting married to Roger."
Scott: Yeah, yeah, that's a good one!

TVGuide.com: All we know thus far is that his plane to Wichita landed safely. Is he definitely alive...?
Scott: Um, I think Roger comes around. [Laughs] It's kind of a flashback-y, posttraumatic-stress kind of thing, but eventually... yeah, there is life for Roger.

TVGuide.com: That's probably best, because I don't think Heather would give up Jake without a fight.
Scott: That's right, I think that that relationship will blossom. But you never know! It's nice right now, though, to have two female characters who aren't at each other's throats all the time. It's real life: Sometimes two girls fall in love with the same boy.

TVGuide.com: What's your favorite Jericho story line?
Scott: Oh, gosh... of course, I love Lennie James' Hawkins story line. And I'd love to know where Jake came from, what his story is....

TVGuide.com: I have to say, the kids' story is getting kind of cute, too.
Scott: The kids are really cute, and they're getting so good. You know who I really like, though, is Mimi (Alicia Coppola) and Stanley (Brad Beyer). They work really well together, and they've written them as this quirky Moonlighting-type relationship. It's a pleasure to watch them. I think Alicia is so fantastic.

TVGuide.com: You said that you have Episode 12 in your hands. How much more will we be learning about Hawkins in the weeks to come?
Scott: Oh, quite a bit.... It really kind of exposes it, and you really start wondering who did it, who was involved [in the nuclear attacks].... That all starts around Episode 9.

TVGuide.com: Will we find out anything more about the death of Emily's brother, Chris — about how exactly he died?
Scott: We don't know how or why, but that starts to get revealed. There are a couple of scenes down the road with my father kind of explaining it, and how Jake was involved.... It's heavy.

TVGuide.com: If you were separated from the rest of the world, what could you not do without?
Scott: Besides a nice bottle of red wine? [Laughs] My husband. I'd like him to be around. It'd blow, otherwise!

TVGuide.com: I hope you take this the right way, but you played a great witch in Into the Blue.
Scott: Thank you!

TVGuide.com: We were rooting for your character to get eaten by the sharks.
Scott: Yeah, I was really excited to play that role. I found Amanda to be very interesting. Plus, it was wonderful to learn how to scuba dive and to do that every day!

TVGuide.com: That's what Jessica Alba said at the film's junket, that the shoot was almost like a vacation.
Scott: It really was — I felt guilty almost getting paid for it. And now I scuba dive every chance I get.

TVGuide.com: Did your appearance in a few episodes of Dark Angel factor at all into your doing Into the Blue with Alba?
Scott: It just so happened that we were both exploring it together. It was nice to work with someone who you've already developed a relationship with — especially if you're going to be hanging out down in the Bahamas!

TVGuide.com: How close did you get to any remotely deadly sea creature?
Scott: Oh, we were swimming with sharks every day. We would go out, and they'd throw chum in the water, and whatever came, that's what we would swim with. Of course, you had the trainers and the cameramen all [protected] in shark mesh, and we're flailing around in bikinis. [Laughs]

TVGuide.com: And barely, at that!
Scott: Yeah, barely at that. It was pretty gnarly!

Tonight's episode was pretty good and looks like it's going to pick up even more next week.

So do you guys think that the guy (I forget his name) is lying about being an FBI Agent? I'm gonna say yes and I loved the way he just walked away when his daughter told him "I knew you were one of the good guys."

Okay whats going with that one family and making stuff up were they used to be from. Thats confusing me.

Oh yeah, He's lying.

Yep. A undercover FBI agent :whatever:

There's a good chance that what Robert claims to be is actually what Jake is. And has been for the past 5 years since he left Jericho. :ninja:

Jericho Gets Two Distinct Seasons
Source: CBS November 8, 2006

http://www.comingsoon.net/news/movienews.php?id=17440

"Jericho," CBS's hit freshman drama about the aftermath of a nuclear explosion in a small, peaceful Kansas town, will be broadcast without repeats for the remainder of the 2006-2007 season.

The network announced today that it has devised a scheduling pattern to broadcast "Jericho" in two distinct seasons. "Jericho" will conclude its "fall season" with a cliffhanger finale on Wednesday, Nov. 29 (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT) and come back in February with all original episodes for the remainder of the season.

"Jericho" will return on February 14th with a recap special looking back at the first 11 episodes, followed by an original episode on February 21st. The all-new episode on February 21st will provide a look into life in Jericho the day before the nuclear bombs exploded.

To sustain audience momentum and update potential new viewers, CBS will create an online destination for "Jericho" during the show's 10-week intermission. The site will include original content, interactive elements, recaps and sneak previews.

CBS will also continue to stream all episodes of "Jericho" broadcast to date on its broadband channel innertube. Currently, "Jericho" is the Network's most-streamed program on innertube.

"Jericho" stars Skeet Ulrich, Gerald McRaney, Ashley Scott, Pamela Reed, Kenneth Mitchell, Lennie James, Sprague Grayden, Michael Gaston, Erik Knudsen, Brad Beyer and Shoshannah Stern.

Jon Turteltaub, Stephen Chbosky and Carol Barbee are executive producers for CBS Paramount Network Television.

In a related announcement, Kevin James, Leah Remini and Jerry Stiller return with original episodes of "The King of Queens" in December.

CBS will broadcast back-to-back new episodes of "The King of Queens" on Wednesday, Dec. 6 (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT) and Wednesday, Dec. 13 (8:00-9:00 PM, ET). New episodes of "The King of Queens" will also be broadcast on Wednesday, Dec. 20 (8:00-8:30 PM, ET/PT) and Wednesday Dec. 27 (8:00-8:30 PM, ET/PT). Seven more episodes of "The King of Queens" to be broadcast in 2007 will be announced at a later date.

CBS will also announce additional programming for the Wednesday (8:00-9:00 PM) time period at a later time.
