JERICHO (what happens when a nuclear mushroom cloud suddenly appears)!

I thought he'd drive it onto the tracks and let the train run into it.....
That's what I figured, but he seemed like he was risking leaving it too late.

A tank on the tracks would certainly cause some carnage.

dammit! why didn't they kill Eric instead of the father?

They also Canceled The Class. Which I like.:whatever:

I can easily see myself losing my tv somewhere around May 2010.

I've given up starting any new TV shows form the US. It's not worth the hassle trying to watch them and have the w**kers screw the show over by either canning it after four episodes or changing their minds on renewing it.

It's just not worth it

Wow, the only two shows I actually watched on CBS are cancelled. Neither Jericho nor The Class deserved to be cancelled on such cliffhanger endings.

crap, I hate when they cancel after the cliffhanger

Damn, first Drive and now this, it never ends. :(

What do they expect to happen. They throw in a 13 week hiatus after a really slow start to the show and they expect everyone to come back and watch. Not too mention throwing it up against the juggernaut that is American Idol, guessing this show didn't stand much of a chance.

It's stupid when you make a serial like Jericho, Lost or Heroes and then throw huge breaks in the middles of the seasons and expect people to flock back.

How do they cancel the best show on tv

And what sucks is that the episodes after the break were better than the first episodes. I actually almost stopped watching at like episode 6 or 7, but then it suddenly got better.

How dumb are they at CBS? They take a long break to bring it back to compete with the BIGGEST show on tv? What did they think would happen? You don't put a new comer like Jericho against Idol, you put another juggernaut like CSI against Idol. And IMO, you're doing fine if you can pull 8M against Idol.

ditto

Just thought I'd drop a note here on the subject. Jericho was a favorite in my household and truly one of the only reasons I ever switched on network television. There is a fanbased movement to persuade CBS to bring some closure to the story...echoing Jake's message to Newburn and saying "NUTS" to the network fans have already shipped thousands of pounds of peanuts to CBS headquarters. An online petition at petitionsonline.com has drawn almost 80,000 signatures and a response from the network. The entertainment division issued a statement saying they are listening and willing to develop some means of telling the end of the Jericho story. I'd encourage anyone who had an interest in the story to call/email/contact the network, sign the petition and participate. I believe CBS pulled a 'Star Trek' with Jericho in cancelling a show that still had life and development promise just as NBC did with Trek in the 60s. If you agree, join the fun of saving a good show! It worked for Trek and executives are saying publicly that they are paying attention! Thanks!

Who knows? ...It might just win interested fans a second season of a good, developing drama...

As happy as I am that people are making an effort to give this how some closure. I do wish people would put this much effort into the world around us.

First Drive now this? That's really terrible news...

It is absolutely not my wish to become involved with what it is referred to as a 'flamewar' or disagreement on this board...but I feel the need to respond.

What anyone does with their time in relation to improving the world about them has little to do with what is usually discussed in these forums. These boards are for discussion of entertainment.

As a matter-of-fact, I do spend quite a bit of time working for the betterment of the community about me. I and my family rarely have the opportunity to sit down and enjoy a television program together...and Jericho was our favorite. We followed it together. We were interested in the story and characters. We invested in it together as a family. That's all.

There is an opportunity for those who felt the same to take a moment and participate on-line in trying to salvage a great story from the scrap heap. I thought I'd help spread the word. And the fact is, it could work! If Bjo Trimble hadn't marshalled together fans of a certain Sci-Fi show in 1967 or '68, millions would have missed out on ten (about to be eleven) motion pictures, five television shows, lunch boxes, tee-shirts...motivating some to become rocket scientists and astronauts.

Jericho was a part of our weekly family experience...and from the looks of the on-line movement...many others as well. I just don't think that taking a moment to try and preserve that is taking away from anything else I do to make a difference in the world around me...and it preserves an important part of my personal world.

By the way, as a sidenote...reports are that CBS has received shipment of somewhere between nine and twelve tons of nuts as of this week. And the on-line petition has somewhere between 95 and 100 thousand signatures. There are other petitions popping up...one with a few thousand signatures is asking TNT to pick up the show. Just thought I'd pass the word along...

Twelve tons of nuts????

What are they doing with them?

Twelve tons of nuts????

What are they doing with them?

Hey, Good Doctor!

At first, CBS was denying that they were receiving any packages at all...but the company shipping them has confirmed that the order is up to somewhere between nine and twelve tons...and there are videos on-line and news stories that verify the network is getting the shipments. Rumor from one employee that spoke on condition of remaining nameless was that the packages were being sent home with employees and as the number grew...they were considering donating them to a charity of some sort.

The behind-the-scenes word is that something major is afoot...the network has outsourced public relations on the matter...while the network executives try to figure out what to do about the show's possible future. If the pressure remains steady, fans might just pull off a reversal...ala the famous Star Trek Season Three that fans demanded and got! Guess we'll see.

Breaking news: JERICHO IS BACK!

Could It Be? Jericho Saved!?

How's this for the biggest stunner you've heard all day: Sources close to CBS tell me it is extremely likely the Armageddonish drama Jericho--which did not make the CBS '07-'08 schedule a few weeks ago, meaning it was effectilvely canceled—has been revived from the dead and will return for eight episodes for midseason.

Boo-yah!

Still, that news comes with a big ol' fat warning: Jericho's salvation has not yet officially been announced by any official CBS types, so it is subject to change. However, as I said, from everything I'm hearing, it is very likely that Jericho will be rescued. And I, for one, am tipping my hat to you nut freaks who've been sending in pounds of peanuts not only to CBS but also to a slew of offices here at E!. You and the Family Guy fans seem to be carving out a new era where even deceased TV shows can get a second chance. You go with your badass fanpaign selves.

Meanwhile, a little side note for you wondering about the status of Gerald McRaney: I'm told he actually quit the show before it was canceled (which is why his character was killed in the finale), and he will not be returning to Jericho, regardless of the show's status. Says his personal rep: "Gerald is moving on. He's thrilled that HBO has submitted him for Emmy consideration for Deadwood, in which he appeared as publisher George Hearst. Although he enjoyed working with the people at Jericho, the Deadwood experience was one of the best of his entire professional career." Sounds like he needs to score a gig on David Milch's new HBO show, John from Cincinnati (which I love).

I'll let you know any further news as I hear it, as we all anxiously await the official word that Jericho will survive! In the meantime, cross your fingers, say your prayers and help some little old ladies across the street to rack up some good karma.

He quit??

Yay! if it's coming back

CBS Looks to Resurrect Jericho
Source: Variety June 6, 2007

CBS is readying a plan to bring back drama "Jericho" sometime next season, reports Variety. The network will likely order seven or eight episodes for broadcast.

The network killed "Jericho" last month, leaving the show off its fall schedule and declaring it dead. Normally, that would've been the end of things.

But fans of the show revolted, launching a massive online-based campaign to save the show. Such protests are hardly unprecedented, going all the way back to the failed online-based campaign to save ABC's beloved "My So-Called Life."

The trade said final details with the cast could be worked out by Wednesday or Thursday. "Jericho" showrunner Carol Barbee, who's taken a similar role on the CBS' midseason "Swingtown," would likely work on both shows.
