Usually, I would say it didn't matter to me if Lex had hair or was bald. But in this case, I would say Eisenberg should be bald.

Somebody should do a bald manip of him.

From the last Thread.

How many 30 year old self made billionaires do you see wearing suits?

The whole point of becoming immensely rich is so you don't have to wear a suit and can wear what you want.

Jobs didn't wear a suit.

Zuckerberg doesn't wear suits.

Larry Page doesn't wear suits.

I think we might see a blazer. Maybe a button up shirt. But a full on three piece suit and tie? No way.

Personally I can see him wearing a t-shirt and a business jacket with jeans and high top sneakers.
You seem to back track mid-post here. I expect you're wrong to say he won't wear a suit, but I'm sure you're right to say he won't wear a three piece. Who does, other than at weddings?

How do I backtrack? I just say that the most we'll see him in is a button up shirt and a business jacket with jeans. Which is hardly a business suit.

I just hope this Lex isn't surrounded by bimbos, thugs and dimwits as it kind of undermines the whole ruthless genius villain when he hangs out with a a bunch of clowns.

I still love this casting choice after sleeping on it. Risky but could be brilliant.

He'll be from the Google generation but it depends how much public exposure he will have. If he's swaying public opinion, he'll be in a suit.

You know, I almost feel like he should be bald not out of faithfulness to the comics, but simply to help separate Lex from Zuckerberg. That's my biggest fear now, that we're gonna get roughly that same performance and not something radically different from anything he's ever done. I hope I'm wrong, but I just feel like he wouldn't have got this role if he hadn't played another morally ambiguous billionaire CEO before.

That's why I don't like the Heath Ledger analogy. Heath Ledger was left field simply because he hadn't played anything remotely like The Joker before. He may not have gotten the role if it weren't for his career-changing role in Brokeback...but that role had NOTHING to do with playing The Joker. With Eisenberg being cast, I feel like it's Snyder/Goyer saying, "Yeah- our version of Lex is a younger, Mark Zuckerberg-type." If that's the version you're going for, than casting Eisenberg is the furthest thing from "outside the box".

All of this is moot if he gives a convincing performance, but I think people have a right to react here because it's easy to envision what he MIGHT do with the role. With Ledger, nobody had a clue.

Most of these bald Eisenlex manips make him look like Seth Green at the end of Austin Powers 3.

I don't want to see a completely shine head bald Lex.

But I do want to see him with no hair. Maybe a number one trim.

I most certainly don't want to see Lex lose his hair in some accident. I'd rather he just explain it to some vapid reporter with an exasperated sigh and something like the following.

"The average human male spends around 20 minutes of their day making sure their hair is combed, styled, cut right or parted properly. I decided to remove the need to waste that time and instead use it on more fruitful endeavours."

Lexcorp isn't just a tech company. Man of Steel established that Lexcorp was in agricultural, oil, and construction industries. Plus a corporate headquarters in a sky rise in the middle of the city. I don't see many Facebook Oil trucks or Apple Construction sites...

Yet... :BA

Not my first choice, but you know...why not?

I had trouble seeing Ledger as Joker or Craig as Bond. I have seen these castings way too many times to get upset. It could be great or maybe it will miss. But it is a bold enough choice to just wait and see.

They might want a Zuckerberg-esque Luthor, but he's still, in all likelihood, the film's master villain. I doubt that the guy who puts all his actors through Gym Jones and uses the words "awesome" and "cool" as his mantra is gonna want a Luthor in sneakers and a t-shirt.

I don't think the type of company matters a whole lot when it comes to this issue. If they're going the self-made young CEO route, the Zuckerberg parallel is still there.

If they're going the heir to his father's empire route...that doesn't really feel like Lex Luthor to me.

It was SO unexpected. But it's starting to grow on me. Interesting choice.

I'm of two minds on this. On one hand, I like the idea of Luthor being a self-made man. So many of today's a**hole billionaires were born with silver spoons in their mouths, which makes them all the more despicable when they talk down to lower income people and bemoan any form of regulation whatsoever. But I think Lex is often more compelling if he's NOT that type of rich person; if he's a self-made billionaire then it challenges the audience a bit more. It makes you respect him even if you hate him.

However, Rosenbaum's Luthor was a spoiled rich kid, and that was my favorite Luthor to date. He was charming and likable even after he was evil. So perhaps that's an okay way to go too.
