Who is that in that gif?

Gael Garcia Bernal aka Latino Flash.

Closed my poll to determine which casting people were more unhappy about...meh. As if if were any secret how people felt about the casting of the movie - not MY words or MY "vison", but an observation of people in general. Kind of a dickish thing to do.

I would agree that closing the poll was reactionary. These are discussion boards, not drool boards right?

A discussion criticizing aspects of this film is as valid as a discussion praising aspects of this film. All viewpoints are equally valid and should have equal weight. One should not be preferred or promoted over another.

The new fantrailer with Jesse has made me feel more confident with this decision. He just needs to slow down a bit with his dialogue. lol

So in other words the "new" Barry Allen.

:barf:

I'm pretty sure that the vast majority of the movie going people in this country wouldn't be able to tell you The Flash's first and last name even if you had a gun trained on their closest loved one. They MIGHT be able to tell you his special power is running really fast, and they'd more likely think he was the bully in Spider-Man, or the guy from that 80s movie with the Queen soundtrack.

The Flash is a great character for cinematizing now, because I think there's a pretty blank slate to start with.

Well it was self explanatory that people who wouldn't recast Affkeck or Eisenberg if they had the chance not participate. The poll was obviously intended for those who would have and to gauge the lesser popular choice of the two. Not even a slight against the actors, just if you had to choose, who were you less happy with when you heard the news - because people almost universally been unhappy about the direction the casting has went with this movie.

And you are absolutely right on one view or opinion not being promoted or put down over another.

Because there's not much out there the public at large has seen in relation to the character, kind of like where Batman was at one point in his history and every other successful comic property was at some point - but boy would people love it if they knew who The Flash was, they just don't know it yet.

I love the character and think he is great, which is why it's important to me that people translate him properly - so they can share my love for the character. Kevin Smith's The Passion Of The Flash.

:D

what's this about Jonah Hill as the Joker that I keep hearing?

People that have taken the leap in logic that "omg Jesse = genius casting!!" are now extrapolating this philosophy further with Jonah Hill being an awesome Joker.

If it were up to them Nicholas Cage would've been an awesome Superman.

ah..........

In the trailer thread.

Just saw it. Gave it a chance. Terrible. So nervous and awkward... I can't take these MEN, these big MEN, these SUPERHEROES teaming up to stop Jesse mother****ing Eisenberg.

He's about as threatening as Christopher Mintz-Plasse in Kick Ass 2:

Actually maybe less. It only gets worse the more intimidating and threatening he tries to be. He just comes off as maybe kind of a dick at best. Yeah not feeling it at all...and we can dream, oh yes, we can dream that Eisenberg will be the most perfect Luthor in all of creation - just like we dreamed Man Of Steel would be the end-all, be-all superhero movie of the ages, when it turned out to be okay at best - and we can be disappointed. Or we can look at what this actually is: Jesse Eisenberg playing Lex Luthor, and go in with zero to no expectations and at worst be not a bit surprised and at best be pleasantly surprised and happy to be wrong.

I'd much rather be happy to be wrong in this place than happy to be right right now.

Kevin Smith, you want Lex Luthor to be a physical threat? That's cute. I don't agree at all.

Can Lex Luthor beat up anyone in the Justice League one on one? No? Then what is the problem here?

No, I'd like him to be any kind of a threat at all. He comes off as a wimpy little kid or college student - his whole aura is that of a *****, yet he's also cocky at the same time.

You don't need to be physical to be a threat, not at all - look at Hannibal Lecter for instance. But you do need to be intimidating in some way to be a threat of some kind good god, and Jesse looks like he's about ready to meltdown on his own without anybody stopping him or doing anything to him really. Holy ****. It's like he doesn't even believe his "threats" when he says them. He comes off as a little **** talker.

And incidentally, man to man, Luthor could probably beat up a JLA member or two, just like Batman, so yes, Luthor could do that.

Yeah we get it, you aren't happy. You have now said so 100 times in this thread.:whatever:

You've turned into a broken record.

You asked that question very well.
