I disagree Henry Cavill looks old. Does he look like a teenager? No but that doesn't mean that he looks old. If he looked old I would have no trouble saying that he does but he does not to me. Everyone is of course entitled to their opinions of course.

As for Eisenberg as Lex; he does not look like a teenager and if they wanted an older actor they would have hired one. They are obviously going in a different direction with this version of Lex, he's not going to be Gene Hackman or Kevin Spacey age and that is fine, not every Lex has to be 20-30 years older than Superman. Certainly even with these changes he should noticably be Lex Luthor. I mean if the character has no resemblance to classic Lex Luthor then they should just make up a new villain and not use the character. I do want the character to recognizably be Lex Luthor.

I'm not a change for change's sake sort of woman and I'm not a change for bad reasons sort of woman. Snyder and Goyer (and Terrio) should have a good reason for their changes and the character should work well within the story that they are trying to tell.

Henry Cavill looks like a man. Not an old man, not a young man, but a man...Superman.

Difference is Cavill looks old. Even when he played a teenager in Man Of Steel, he looked mid 30s. Cavill comes off mature as well, in his voice and delivery. Everything I've seen Eisenberg in, he talks in a boyish voice.

Even in his newest film, Clip: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GxiO-NJZU3g Comes off as a kid.

So you're saying when Cavill played a teenager he look the same age as he was playing Superman? :whatever: I saw the difference in Cavill's teenager, you know cause some look older and others look younger. The curly hair and the characterization made us think that we saw Cavill in 17-18 years old.

Did you see The Double? I had and I didn't see the things you said. He performs some mid 20 boy. Cause he looks young but not teenager. Or you didn't see the movie, or you only see that in him eventhought it wasn't the case in that. even with the other character he played in this movie. So.....

I thought Cavill did great in that scene where he's a teenager... he even made the pitch of his voice higher to reflect his youth. He didn't come off like a guy in his 30s there at all.

Look at his more recent pics he basically looks mid to late 20's.

Chop off that hair, and if you are playing Lex and your name is not John Shea then you shave you damn HEAD!

Toss on an adult suit and makeup and there you go.

One thing to remember is that he probably get's makeup that makes him younger looking.

He looked the same to me. Just with a puffy afro.

Difference is Cavill looks older than his age.

Eisenberg is the opposite and comes off younger than his age. As the clips from his most recent film demonstrates.

I haven't seen the film, but there's enough clips of his performance out there. He is convincing as a nerdy boy in high school here;

No he doesn't, Cavill looks 30

Cavill could pass as mid-late 30s. In a way, that's probably a good thing when he's paired up with Affleck and Adams. Superman shouldn't look much younger than Batman.

We don't know what age Lex Luthor is in the movie.

Yeah. That's where this conversation started. I'm fine with it if they find a way to age him up in the 'present' scenes.

At least where he looks and sounds like Cavill's contemporary.

It's so painfully clear that you just don't like Cavill and want to take digs at him.

I like Cavill.

Though I think some of his fans need to be less sensitive. Haven't taken any digs at him at all.

I don't like Eisenberg as Lex at this point, for sure. I'll be clear about that. But I like Eisenberg as an actor, in other roles, so I'm open to seeing what they do.

It' painfully clear to me that the Batsuit reveal picture has brought in a large amount of new posters and that many of them are under the age of 21.

I didn't think of that but you are probably right.

I like Cavill.

It has nothing to do with sensitivity. I like to know the real position of the person I'm discussing things with. I don't have to read between the lines on this subject. I have seen no proof that you like Cavill as you claim and that's fine but own your opinion. I certainly don't pretend I care for actors I don't care for.

Nope. Mentioned in the previous thread that Cavill is decent at best. That's not a 'dig' at Cavill, nor does it mean that I don't like him in the role.

Only a Sith deals in absolutes...and even though that's a stupid line, my point is that I'm fine with an actor being serviceable in the role. I just think Affleck (and perhaps Eisenberg) have the potential to be bigger breakout talent in BvS.

There are actors that exist that I don't like can honestly say were miscast for the Superman role..

Luckily they were confined to television.

I like Cavill. He is alright in comparison.

With regard to this thread, him looking old is a complement if anything. It's good they didn't go for a boyish-looking Superman this time. It wouldn't have worked with the gritty approach they went for.

@IseeSpidey It's so notorious, I noticed that too. bias everywhere.

Seriously... How old are you that you think Cavill looks "older than he is" cuz... Well it's terribly laughable to anyone that is over the age of, oh, say 27.

Yeah.....no. He'd be a very young looking late 30's/early 40's. Very young. And there are people out there like that. (Hugh Jackman didn't look 40 when he hit that milestone).

But yeah, no way in hell Cavill looks older than his age.

That's cause my boy, Joaquin, passed on the role though. :o

I remember when Cavill was cast, people complained about his age and his receding hairline.

Honestly I feel he is trolling so I'm moving on.
Just look at his last posts on Affleck's thread. There was no point on it. but the best option is to move on. Nicely said. I don't know if the Batfleck pic just attract some of these guys who want to "prove smth" to %$#" on this production. I really see that pointless cause each companies are doing their own stuff.

When Cavil was cast he wasn't even 30. He's 31 years old now, for Zod's sake!! And frankly, nobody really takes the "receding hairline" line of thinking seriously. Take it from a guy that's been losing hair for a LONG time.

I think Cavill looks a good 5 years older than his age. Nothing wrong with that, if anything it's better he looks more mature than he is.
