No way. I'm 100% sure that rumor is bull. Besides wasn't the part of same rumor a claim that he has tattoos of Metropolis on his body, which is very hard to believe?

Though now, after certain "Suicide Squad" characters' reveal, I might want to rethink all this. :hmm

:o

:lmao: There were rumors he had tattoos of "Metropolis" on his body???? I missed that.

Three fanboy rumours that are mysteriously recurrent:

1) Character x has tattoos.
2) Character x has scars (potentially self inflicted).
3) Character x has been "hired" by character y.

For everyone saying Eisenberg is too skinny/frail to play Lex,

If Eisenberg is capable of putting on some weight, which I'm not sure he could, but IF he can they could portray this Lex in a similar manner as his DCNU counterpart.

In the DC reboot, when Lex and Superman first meet in Action Comics, Lex captures Supes. Lex is smart, calm and calculating. But when Superman breaks free, Lex shows his true colors. He's frail, he's a coward, and he starts to beg for his life. He is a pathetic runt before the almighty Supes.

Then when Supes and Lex fight like five years later in the same DCNU continuity, Luther is more intimidating, he has the muscle mass of a body builder, he has his mech suit, and he is TOTALLY unafraid of Superman. We can have this Lex in live action if they go that route, and if Eisenberg can bulk up. Hell, Leto was skinny at one point, but he put on some muscle for Joker!

Well there's that long shaggy hair el maybe was talking about.

Except it's for a different movie. Solid job, Berty.

He's starring with Kristen Stewart in that movie. Who's picked some very good part's since she finished with the Twilight movies.

I'm sorry everyone:csad:...I've REALLY been trying here...but every time I think of, or see, or hear Jesse, I just get an uneasy feeling in my stomach. As an actor, he doesn't do anything for me. I know he's won an Oscar and everything, but I just can't jump on-board the Eisentrain...I really am routing for a great performance from him in BvS, I really am! He wasn't my first choice by far, but I do hope he gives us a great Lex. I'm not trolling here...just voicing my honest opinion.

Hey, it's fair. And I for one completely understand this sentiment. I believe he might be good for this version of Lex they had in mind, if it stays in the boundaries of his strengths as an actor, but he's definitely not an actor I would cast as Lex Luthor.

Past interation of live action Lex Luthor:

Lyle Talbot (Atom Man vs Superman):
th

Gene Hackman (Superman: The Movie):
th

Scott James (Superboy):
th

John Shea (Lois & Clark- The New Adventures of Superman):
th

Michael Rosenbaum (Smallville):
th

Kevin Spacey (Superman Returns):
th

Jesse Eisenberg (BvS: DOJ)
th

I have no doubt that Eisenberg's Lex Luthor will be the best version. Well, hopefully!

Heh, nice. I don't know half of these Luthors by the way. I had no idea there were so many of them.

Kevin Spacey man if he wasn't trying for Hackman version of Lex would've been awesome.

The only Luthor I had not seen from that list was Lyle Talbot.

You forgot Sherman Howard who replaced Scott James as Lex on Superboy.

Spacey would of been great if he wasn't doing a Hackman Luthor.

Rosenbaum and Shea were good.

His performance was alright, but the character as written was about as exciting as Christmas spent with teetotal religious relatives.

M.E. wasnt even on my radar when thinking of Lex. I guess we'll see, won't we.

hackman is certainly a great actor, but he went a little more camp, which i suppose is fitting for the reeve movies. i'm hopeful eisenberg will knock it out of the park. i love the way he delivers his line in the trailer. he sounds like a mixture between luthor and glorious godfrey.

If you would have given me 100 guesses as to who would play Lex Luthor, Eisenberg never would have crossed my mind. Now, if you gave me 10 guesses on who would be the worst choice for Lex, he probably would have made that list for me. I don't think he's a bad actor by any means, I just think he's a horrendous fit for Lex.

I just hope he's passable.
