I haven't hear a single word about MK in a while, so I suppose Favs is working on pre-production only (that's why he left IM3). But I think that for a cameo or a small role he will be avaible. Feige and Favreau have said that they were opened for it.Jon Favs..will he be available due to his commitments to The Magic Kingdom?
it sounds like maya hansen to me.
Of course it won't be a page-for-page adaptation. I suspect Killian will be fused with elements of Mallen for his appearance on the big screeMaya Hansen "Plus."
I just can't see IM3 being a literal read of Extremis --- the story is too adult to sit well with the all-ages demographic the MCU has cultivated, and it's frankly too short and dull to be cinematic superhero fare.
Dr. Killian's role *has* to be enhanced --- no way in hell would they ask Guy Pearce to take on a role that would give him a no-dialogue blink-and-ya-miss-it walk-on (and fall-down) cameo --- so it stands to reason that Maya and Mallen will change significantly as well. In fact, I strongly, strongly doubt Mallen will even be in it --- he's wayyyy too controversial for Marvel Studios & Disney. Instead, they're likely to work someone else as the Extremis-ized(?) villain....and it'll probably be a "name" villain from 616.

It'll be Mandarin. (Who may or may not be played by Ben Kingsley. Or Andy Lau. Or whomever.) And this, to me, is a great way to explain his superpowers without having to resort to alien power rings or ancient Chinese mysticism, but instead to pure robotic and biomechanical technology.
