The Dark Knight Jim Gordon Email

Haha, that would be awesome!

Yeah, the wiki page says that The Joker stole Karnassian's I.D. so... that leads me to believe he's going to try to mess with the school - hence the scheduled "field trip" to Carnivalland, which is likely under his control.

I think it may be a semi-spoiler - perhaps The Joker is going to go after the children of Gotham - what better way to push Batman over the edge than to prey on those we perceive as most vulnerable. Will he kill to save children?

Could be. Could just be total nonsense spewing from my lips (erm, fingers).

Hmm, I don't think it's very nonsensical.
That would make a lot of sense actually :joker:

I've not received a response yet, but I only wrote a little while ago. It seems like if there is anyone response, it will either be hand-written (hard to believe) or perhaps an auto-response will be sent later (or one generic response sent to everyone who replied to the e-mail).

hand written wont happen. too many people have been sent the email to personally repsond to everyone who would've sent Gordon the reply.

I highly doubt we'll even get responses back from him.

The email was meant to be a clue, not a solution.

elt's try to avoid speculation on that level in this thread.

The GothamUSD has nothing to do with money laundering.

It's a little off topic,
but it could somehow have something to do with money laundering, if the joker is the one involved with this money laundering.
Hmm,
I really think there is some sort of direct connection with the laughtilithurts surveillance and the money laundering email from Gordon
but I could be wrong

That's right, and we've been suspecting of Garcetti being Iceman for a while.

Now we know.

has anyone gone back to /delos to see if the images have changed? I wouldn't know if there were differences...

No, but it does end up sparing a bus for a bank job...
I was wondering HOW he got the Dist. 22 school bus. . .

nevermind- it is just the effect of the floor- looking at it quickly seemed like the joker's face...these virals are getting to my head!

Those are the types of left field guesses we can't afford if we want to effectively solve this riddle.

What people need to be focusing on are the things that have been presented right in front of our noses, in this particular case. none of what your speculating on falls into that field.

that's a bank job, far from the type of professionalism money laundering requires.

not true. How do you get money that needs laundering? *L*

But, anyways, back on track:

the email...

"
Please, in your everyday life – as well as your work on the job – keep a lookout for anything out of the ordinary that may signal a money laundering scheme. Overheard conversations, suspicions of stores you frequent, etc. Everything is fodder for this critical investigation. "

Everything?

I simply think, as stated before, the part about "overheard conversations and suspicions of stores you frequent" seems significant.
I feel that there could possibly be a tie in with any conversations we find in someone's email account (perhaps we will get into someone else's, or perhaps Barhyte's will have something important), or phonecalls/messages. And then with a focus on stores such as the Deli or Betty's House of Pies... maybe updates to such sites, and then the idea of checking to see if there's anything strange concerning the updates.. etc

just wanted you all to know THE ONLY thing i have done is repond to the /delos query........and i got the email within the hour or so
interestingly the caller id that showed up on my cell phone was 000-000-0000

definitely...

from the Barhyte we know it's the bistro. So what characters and sites are associated with Rossi?? And it kinda makes sense now why we got Rossi's arrest record.

So where to next? Are we just supposed to "be on the lookout" and wait until something happens?

I'm gonna be going back over the timeline of the viral and see if I missed anything.

there's gotta be something to Barhyte's emails, too.

drugs, prostitution, illegal gambling, illegal arms trade. you name it. organized crime has a hand in all of those. And all of those are a hell of a lot less risky that laundering money stolen from a bank.

Bank Robberies committed by the Joker at this point probably have little to nothing to do with money laundering Gordon is investigating. I mean seriously, your stretching about as far as you possibly can. And you're ignoring what's right in front of you.

For all we know, Jim Gordon doesn't even know about the Joker yet.

Not to mention that the bank the Joker robbed was operated by the mob.

Oh, and remember the scene in the trailer where J burns the money? Yeah, I highly doubt he stole it to launder it, then burn a much larger payload later on.

Use your head, man.

Or don't.

Either way, You're grasping for straws from a cup that's sitting on the pavement of a dead end street.

Just don't be surprised when you turn up absolutely nothing.

which is why i went back and looked at Gordon...
the Times #2 has an article on this. I think I fell asleep during that one.

If we're using the viral as a space keeper between BB and TDK then Gordon does know about the Joker. He knew about the Joker at the end of BB.

I will admit though that making uneducated leaps doesn't help solve puzzles. Look at the people still on the Joker Text thread from yesterday.... They're sure that the Joker is using space signals to talk to us in a cypher based off Mandarin Chinese. :whatever:

I'm going to look through all of the old stuff on the timeline too and see if I can make any connections that are at least partially recognizable.

Hey guys got the email as well, and replied. I was thinking about the line "Overheard conversations, suspicions of stores you frequent, etc", I know its meta-game thinking but maybe there is some sort of product placement thing with a company. I.e. lets just say Dominoes just cause they have used them in the past. You go to dominoes to get your gotham city pizza (Yumm) and they say a clue or something. I know its a stretc but hey I am just trying to think. Because like I said that line really dosen't sit well wit me.

that's what i thought, but that would be a bit much without a specific place to look.

however... there's plenty of forums, and bloggers.. and... you... people.. *narrows eyes, moves further away* you're all dirty, filthy money launderers, ain'choo?
