Here's a couple for the HR FF #4. Have you ever seen the version by Sal Velluto and Bob Almond in Priest's series - - I happen to like that title quite a bit.

Yeah, it's too early to tell what kind of run Reginald Hudson (of the Hudson bros.) will have but I like the direction he's taking BP in. Back to his "roots" so to speak.

what was up with the Black Knight? that didn't look like Nathaniel Garrett. and since when has Dane Whitman been a 'british lad?' oh well. it was just nice to see him and Batroc incognito. i'm liking it so far. haven't seen much of T'challa in action just yet. i hope he's every bit as capable as Priest's version.

You're more up on Avengers history than I am but wasn't Dane a member of both the Avengers and the Defenders? I admit I am confused by his appearance in BP myself. And suddenly, Batroc almost seems cool.

And who is the guy in the containment chamber with the backed up toilet? The Red Ghost? They called him Igor in the story IIRC. So far the new writer is better than I thought he would be and at least he has my interest.

i think the warped prism of wanda is effecting the editor's mind. that guy in the toilet is supposed to be the very chinese Dr.Chen Lu. now i suppose there could have been another Radioactive Man that only appeared to menace the Black Panther but i doubt it. i don't think they'd have to keep Red Ghost (wasn't his name Ivan? i can't remember) in a protective cell like that. and there was no mention of monkeys. someone screwed up. Radioactive Man isn't russian or named 'Igor.' as for Dane, he's been a superhero forever. his first outing had him sneak into the Masters of Evil but that ruse didn't even last one mission. he then partnered with Captain Britain (he's from Massachusetts but has a castle in England). he's been a team member of the Defenders, the Avengers, and Heroes for Hire. he led a hero team in the Ultraverse. i can't explain his appearance in Black Panther. if this is his uncle Nathaniel, he's been using bo-tox and finally decided to shave. maybe that priest tricked him some how. but Dane has never been a religious individual; prototypical scientist. and Batroc does seem cool and, surprisingly, tall for the Lepair (like a head taller than Klaw).


on 2nd thought, i can't find any evidence of Dane having been a Defender. he has a connection to the team; having associated with Doctor Strange and lent his flying horse to Valkyrie.

Oh, I forgot about the Radioactive Man. I thought and maybe this was a new development the writer is trying to create for RG and maybe the Red Ghost was having problems with the cosmic rays he absorbed. It could have been the monkeys blocking up the toilet..

I could be wrong but I thought the Black Knight/Dane Whitman hung around with the Defenders in that brief revival of the series a couple of years ago. The whole tie in with the Vatican is weird to me too. Maybe Reggie just got through reading the DaVinci code. And with those armed guards it's like they are making the Vatican into a Maffia-type outfit. Surprising how some writers can come up with something that has the potential to be offensive to another group while extolling the virtues of another. Those be some murky waters there.

yeah, really. i'm not sure what point he's trying to make with the priest but it's a little 'early' if you know what i mean. as for him Dane, are you referencing the last Defenders series? because i can guarantee that he didn't take part in that one. he was still a reserve Avenger at the time. you might be confusing him with Nighthawk. they have similar color schemes and are similar looking out-of-costume. Dane did appear in issues 4, 8, and 11 of the first Defenders series. but i'll look into it some more. i actually like the character and wouldn't mind seeing more of him.
