JLA movie Villains

Hey Dude_Love, i agree man the White Martians would be a perfect start to a franchise and you could dedicate more time to introducing these heroes and them interacting with eachother compared to focusing on a major villain like Darkseid, and as far as Darkseid goes hes better off for a 2 or 3 movie or even both since there is so much you can actually put in there.

I disagree, White Martians are boring, IMO. While it worked in the JL show, that episode is probably one of my lesser favorites when I compare it to other episodes. I think for a movie like this you are most likely going to only get one shot, so why not go all out. Legion of Doom would be more so the kind of thing that would bring together a Justice League.

So what is it gonna cost to bring all these heroes/villians to life?

400...Maybe 500 million? :wow:

Hahaha... with one villain ala Despero and reducing Batman and Aquaman to mere cameos and shopping smart, this movie can easily be made for 150. Superman, Wonder Woman and Flash, honestly, don't require groundbreaking special FX, and depending on how they decide to plan out GL, he's pretty easy too. The hardest part would be the suit and CGIing of J'onn, and if they save his full form for the third act, this movie can actually be made for less than 150 mil...

But if we demand 7 characters and an army of villains blowing crap up every ten minutes, then, yes... 300 mil easy...

Now if they're REALLY smart they'll make 3 LOTR-level movies in one sitting for 400-500 mil...

This would be a good reason to make the individual movies first (WW, GL, and Flash, most likely), get a handle on the characters and the FX, then go a little crazy with the big team-up movie. It would be too big a risk to break that much ground in one movie; it's been done before, but there's a hell of a lot at stake for the fans and especially the studio.

I've heard that before Jordacar, but I just don't buy it anymore. I agree it would be good for the JLA movie to have solo movies beforehand, but I'm not sure it's possible, and very sure it's unlikely.

If a JLA movie is going to be made, it's not going to be behind 3-4 complimentary solo movies... that's just not realistic, logistically. You might as well wish for a Christopher Reeves clone to play Superman.

And what ground is being broken, really? FX-wise? Flying? Glowing Lassos? Superspeed (aka Bullet time), the only thing even remotely new is the GL contructs... and that can be done in a number of cost effective ways...

And what exactly is 'at stake?'

Just wondering how reducing Batman, probably the least CGI heavy character to a cameo will save money? And Superman requires a fair bit of CGI work (Flying Superspeed, Heat Vision, Super Breath, Super Strength), So does GL. Flash will require a lot off Bullet Time and Wonder Woman will need strength. Of those 4, WW is the least CGI dependant.

Bats and Green Arrow (Not a fan of Aquaman) would be pritty easy to do cost wise as they only really relly on stunts and physical effects. No need for the Batmobile really.

I can't see a way of making this Movie well for less than 200 mil.

Honestly, I've been thinking that Proffesor Ivo and AMAZO would make great villains for a League movie. First off, the movie should start woth the League already established. Ivo should be portrayed as a lonely, cowardly, pathetic, out of shape loser nerd working at some place like Best Buy. He used to work as an engineer at a lab dealing with robotics and nanotechnology, but a mishap in the lab that was his fault cost him his job and reputation. He longs to make something of himself and be somebody, preferably somebody with super powers. He creates AMAZO, and sends it to defeat the League. The League narrowly defeats AMAZO, but AMAZO manages to collect cellular scans that Ivo uses to transform himself into an immortal, super strong badass. He then goes on to pimp smack the entire League. Not sure how they'd win, but I'd think Ivo's downfall would be because of his inexperience/overconfidence.

AMAZO, yeah that would be a good villain , being able to have all their powers but has the Spock/ Data-esque POV on humanity that could get to be quite unnerving.

And of course, Ivo's defeat could be at the hands of AMAZO himself. Though if done improperly, it would seem a tad cliche.
