Ok recent I've been to like 10 job interviews recently and I keep getting asked "Why do you want to work here?" and I freeze, I can never think of anything to say besides "I want the money", which by the way I really do.

I've got another interview on Tuesday, so any advice?

I don't really know what to tell you, since you haven't specified what the job is. But in general you need to sit down and break the job down into all different aspects of what could possibly be construed as being positive about it.

Do you get to meet new interesting (or otherwise) people? If you're a people person (or if you're not but want to lie), that's one thing.

Does the job offer any possibilities of working yourself to a better position within the organisation? If yes, then that's another thing you might want to think about (since if you're interested in this, it makes it seem that you will do your best at all things in order to reach that position).

Does the job simply offer you a chance to learn something new and "better" yourself? Again, if you play off of that the right way... you have another in (someone who's doing the job because he genuinly is interested in it obviously has a better shot).

Another suggestion for all job interviews that's important is to do research on everything the company/whatever does... if you show that you know what it's all about, etc, it can give the interviewer the impression that you are indeed not just there for the money (or you'd probably just know the bare minimum about said company).

Stuff like that...

Truthful Answer: I want to work here because it's financially beneficial for me.

Probable response of Employer: Ok. We'll let you know.

(You still have a 50/50 chance) Wanting money isn't bad. The desire of it is one of the greatest motivating factors for most workaholics. It won't necessarily impair your interview.

Believe me, most of the people in HR departments aren't going to relentlessly hound you with a barrage of taxing questions. A lot just read or take their questions from co. policy statement sheets.

Good luck.

For these kind of obvious questions you should prepare and have an idea of an answer that you can give. There's a lot of books/internet sites that will help you out with the most common generic questions. You have to show a keen interest for your field and try and back this up with your past experiences, qualifications, achievements, hobbies etc so think about ways in which you can argue that they support your choice of job.

Just "Say the reason everyone works for the money, i think i could bring good team work and motvation to this company and would be a good candidate to work here, im never off sick or late"

Just sell your self like your the best worker about, how could they say no then??

My Father always said, "BS your way into the job you want. When you get that job, figure out how to make your BS real."

dont lie to make yourself look good, it'll come back and bite you in the ass

No like he is saying "I can fly a plane and i single handley helped stop world war 3"

As cliche as it sounds, be honest. They hear the same **** from interviewees all day, like "my weakness is that I'm a perfectionist" or some drivel. I confess I've been somewhat of a job hopper these past two years with having about 2 jobs within that time frame(3 if you count the company that fell through on its own), but I foolishly took those because I needed money and not because I liked what I did. Don't follow my example in that area, but do follow the honest as opposed to being fake mantra.

I wasn't implying that you out right lie and say something nuts like, "I was the owner of Best Buy." My Father merely met that if you landed an interview in which you know you are capable of doing said job, then BS some of the questions. For example, Owner: "Can you handle a team of 10 on your staff? On your resume it says you've only handle up to 4 people on staff, can you handle more?" A question like that, sometimes, can't be answered. So, you BS. You make yourself out to be conifident. When you get the job, you make sure you CAN handle a larger staff.

this is an old saying ..you cant tell a book by its cover but if the cover looks like **** no one is going to open the book... so dress appropriately for what you want .. dress for success..also be assured but not obnoxious and use manners that people have often forgotten.. look on the internet for the rest of the advice they have some good sites for this

Just be confident and honest.

Get a good night's sleep before the job interview and don't forget breakfast. Don't eat too much, though, or you'll hurl. And drink plenty of water.

One answer for the "why work here" question could be: "Because I think my skills are ideally suited to working here because...." That makes it seem like not only is it good for YOU to be working there, it's good for THEM. So it sounds honest, but is still ass-kissing.

Also, don't mention work experienced you gained in prison. It never impresses anybody.
