Action-Adventure JOHN CENA to kick ass and chew bubble-gum in DUKE NUKEM

I assume when people say they want this to be deadpool esque they mean it should have a pegging scene?
More like the meta-humor self-parody of the genre and things of that nature. Make it a little bit self-aware.

I mean I guess you could have a pegging scene and make fun of how homoerotic classic action movies are and how dumb so called male feminists are when they get angry and complain that Hollywood is getting rid of male heroes or replacing male franchises with women, etc. Like kind of take the McGruber jokes up a notch.

That SyFy TV series Happy! did a pegging scene. I don't know how they get away with a fraction of the stuff they do on that show.

make it the last action hero meets crank with gore and aliens

Maybe less like those since Last Action Hero was a bomb, and Crank was mid-level success at best that was ruined by its sequel. Think more like Deadpool.

Last Action Hero meets Starship Troopers meets Showgirls.

I smell a hit.

Me too. I think I will die of happiness when I hear that epic score in Dolby surround sound again

Hah, it'll never happen, but they should dig up Paul Verhoeven and throw a truck full of money at him, see if he'd do it.

We need that type of black humor for this.

yeah ...as if duke nukem won't bomb...i mean, it was never targeted to a broad audience but it became a cult classic...you saw what happened when they tried to sell it again and make it more ''appealing''...just godawful!!!
...i don't care if its successful at the box office...dredd 3d was no hit but a well done film and the fanbase demands more.
evil dead was stupid and silly and not a box office hit.
they should really stick to what duke nukem really is...

a campy and raunchy gore fest

perfect call...total recall is the dukest we got so far...he even had a hologram :woot:

I wish we knew what made starship troopers so great. So many people have tried to knock it off but no one really has. You're right though that it would make a great target to shoot for

maybe because they got the tone right, didnt took them too serious yet the actors delivered as if the threat was of high stakes. plus alot of people got the tounge in cheek messages and didnt mind over the top action mixed with college soap opera in space. the mix of being entertaining and gory at the same time it's what i think worked so well. like cartoons being hilarious yet mature or even r-rated.
i hope they go that route and don't try to sell it to kids...i want gore, over the top action, nude ti ts, explosions and f bombs

Cena is a solid and underrated comedic actor. This is a perfect character for him to have the opportunity to shine.

Compared to most other pro-wrestlers turned actors, (except the rock of course), yes he is underrated.

i do wonder how you do duke nukem in 2018 without offending many people lol

That is something that irks me off.. WHEN as a society did we shift from "You have the right to say what you want." to "You have to always watch what you say, just in case you offend someone somewhere"..

Damn. It would be the last of the great 90's PC FPS shooters they could do, especially after Doom and Wolfenstien.

The Doom film was 'semi ok'. BUT I'd love a wolfenstein film!

Last Action Hero meets Starship Troopers meets Showgirls.

Three campy fun films.. I love it!

Last Action Hero wasn't well made though. I'd say not to look to that as an influence.

LAH was done just as well as it should have been, for a campy zany action flick, MOCKING action flicks though.

I see TLAH as a guilty pleasure. Much like the Chuck norris film, Sidekicks..

I could see them going the sin city route, where the women are no doubt beautiful and gorgeous but also badass and very cool. I would like that more than just boobs for the sake of boobs or sexual Puritanism. I would hate for this movie to be sexless

I'll take Wolfenstein movie only if it has Elite Guard troops. :sly:

why i mentioned the last action hero is because of the way they make fun of the action genre...
there are other movies who do it better but it is schwarzenegger...the main influence for duke.
and that hamlet scene was how i really thought duke nukem should be...stupid one liner, lighting up the cigar and blowing ***** up.

with movies like dredd 3d, deadpool and kung fury getting a feature length film, a duke nukem movie will have a good paved way and its a good time now to succeed.

i saw others debating about it on youtube thinking he could be outdated and learn a lesson about being more ''polite''...i say f that`!!!!

no lessons and no evolving character arch!!!

as an example i chose dredd 3d because its a movie where a guy goes inside a skyscraper and kills everyone, end of story.

aliens attack, kidnapp chicks and duke saves the day. the end

just make the humor clever and not too childish or just crude.
a stuborn general, chicks in need, cool ways of killing aliens. driving a harley or a monster truck, flying a spaceship...

just no stupid sidekick like in stallones dredd!!!....if they do so, i'll fly over to hollywood and rip those writers heads off :-)

...some good jabs at the genre. not too much on the nose. and very, very action packed.
i mean really amping up the game in terms of stunts and camera work.
it has to look cool even if the story is paper thin.
this is the right thing for michael bay studios...style over substance and if they are a bit careful with the jokes they'll have a hit

I wonder if it will be hard to get actors to agree to this. Some people might think it might ruin their careers. I wouldn't though, I would be ready for some fun

Just put a check on a hook as bait for Samuel L. Jackson and he will come running.
