Not played a DN game in years.
I wonder if Cena is still attached.
If they really do it, I don't think it can work unless they make it a really self-effacing, tongue-in-cheek, almost campy parody.
Like you have to play up how insensitive and out-of-date Duke is as a character and his material doesn't fly today. Otherwise I don't think audiences will accept it. Like you'd have to Rick and Morty it almost.
He just had good practice playing Peacemaker. I think if they the route u described Cena is perfect
Cena is no longer attached to this project. He was the desired star when it was in the hands of Platinum Dunes. Also, since that happened he got the Peacemaker role. Basically a very similar character, except without the introspection.

Dye his hair blonde.
Lol, not in a million lightyears would Evans take this role.

I mean, he took on cap which was definitely a risky role back in the day.
sorry I misread the original question. I thought the question was, who would be like an archetype of the 90s video game version that John Cena’s Duke would grind up against
At least there’s some news finally.
Would it still be live action and with cena? If it’s animated they might be recast so it’s cena not heard
What do you have coming next?
I got video games in production. Obviously more Devil May Cry. I'm being approached with different IPs and companies that want to work with me. I bought the rights to Duke Nukem. Not the gaming rights, but I bought it from Gearbox.
What's your vision for Duke Nukem?
It's a middle finger to everybody. When Duke Nukem blew up, a bunch of people sat around trying to turn it into a brand, when it's just a middle finger. Duke Nukem can't be made by a corporation, because the moment a corporation makes Duke Nukem, it's no longer Duke Nukem. I don't intend on having anyone tell me what to do on this one.
Yeah...I don't think that's a good idea, but maybe it's going to be more of a satire. That said, I don't think you can make Duke Nukem work in the 2020s.
What in this *******'s filmography suggests he understands satire.
