The Dark Knight joker concept art..

I much prefer what we got in the film, but I don't think it's bad. It just looks like an over the top version with its excessive scarring. It still has some of the same features (the scarring & the back around the eyes). It's also interesting to note that it has a Sid Vicious style haircut which makes sense as he was one of the inspirations for Nolan's/Ledger's protrayal.

It would've been a huge fail. I really like the look they had for this movie.

No, I hate it, but I hate the Heath design 100 times more.

I want to see a comic book come to life...not some Emo, dahrk, gritty, self-loathing wannabe serious crap.

The best Joker I've seem so far is:

'Cause...he.....looks like the Joker? :o
I wouldn't mind seeing a more comic accurate looking Joker on the big screen, but I hope it never ever looks anything like that abomination. To me, that's just as bad as the overly gruesome Joker in the concept art. From one extreme to the other. :o Actually, I think that's probably how Joker would have looked if Schumacher had him in his films. For a fan film, that Joker isn't too bad.. but they really went overboard on the nose and eyebrows.

lol doesnt matter if you are the queen of england and you save several newborn babies every day and donate $500 to Super Hero Hype everytime you get 100 posts, the concept art looks real amateurish and something that is ripped from Deviantart

Any Two-Face concept art?

Your such an idiot. You should have just taken his word for it, instead you call him out as being a lier and he had to totally show you how much of an idiot you are. Now you come at him with some fake ******** about how it looked amateurish to you so that justifies you browbeating him. Plus if you werent such an idiot you would have seen his post before saying there was no two-face concept art.

do ppl even read the posts? i said its from the art book. what do u mena your not sure where its lifted from.. i even pulled the full page a few posts ago to shut up ppl that were calling it fake.. and still ppl dont belive me? next time i'll just keep what i find to myself then.. nobody evenm said thanx for any of the pics ive uploaded from it..

Thanks bro! I think the picture looks freaking awesome.. and people are just stupid thats all. The dont read before posting and they come off looking like tools.

Reminds me of Gary Oldman in Hanibal.

In terms of acting, Heath/Nolan portrayed the most realistic Joker that will probably never be topped. It was so good, that you can use the "comic" looking Joker...and the movie would still be realistic. Heath's "grungy" Joker wasn't necessary at all. It was his dialougue, weapons, video threats, and acting that really DID IT for me.

I mean, who can't see an Alex Ross style Joker doing the magic trick? Or the Joker in his hat, during the 1st mob scene?

As for the concept art, he definately needs more color. *we need a manip* I'm also against the spikey short hair. He should go with the bangs/fringe. Other than that, if Heath looked like that...I wouldn't of minded at all. Just as long as he acted the same...

After seeing the concept art I am happy with the joker that we got in the movie. To the person who started this thread is the art book worth getting in your opinion? I saw in one of your post that the book has very little concept art and no real two-face pics. So is the book just the script with a few pics here and there? If so I don't know if I will throw down 40 dollars for the book. I would have to flip through it to see if I will buy it this week. (I already have the novelization though)

what do you guys think of this? better or worse then what we got..

discuss..

I think it looks like Micheal Myers has just discovered the new Romantics. Terrible as a Joker design imo.

The design thay gave Ledger is certainly not 'traditional'- but it works.

The closest I've seen to a 'traditional' Joker was something I found on Google images.

Looks a lot like Bollands' Joker (aguably the greatst rendition of Joker ever) and not a prosthetic in sight. Probably wouldnt work too well on the big screen but it's a helluva lot better than the god-awful 'Dead-end' catterpillar eyebrows design.

The concept design is a good drawing. But it's so grotty. It reduces The Joker to the leve of a movie slasher, which should never be the case. But hey, he's not got a string tie. So that's a plus point.

Great concept art. It was a good starting point for what we got in the final. Less leatherface, but certainly far from any of crappy encarnations we had seen. Genius. Pure genius what they came up to Heath's Joker...

thanx for the backup.. guess hes got nothin else to say.. i could understand if i posted that b4 all the pics of him came out and said look its the joker.. but the movies out weve seen tons of pics, why would i post fake ****?? anyways yeah not one two face pic in the book.. nothing, just a model that looks nothing like the movie.. i figured the concept art that got leaked would be in here but nothing, i dont get why they stiffed on so much art.. and no i dont think its worth 40 bucks in my opinion..

heres the other pics i was telling u about.. he has green hair and is less grusome..

looks like a model here i dont like it..

Are there any interesting non-Joker concepts in the book, as well? Such as the new Batsuit or the Bat-Pod?

The hair on that last one is A LOT better, and the skin is great. The chelsea grin is terrible though. Generally much better than what we got.

Interesting, though rather dull. But do I detect a hint of...permawhite?
The top one is a very Burton-esque drawing. And I like the bottom one. If they had gone with a permawhite Joker for TDK, this would certainly be alright by me.

I didn't realize there were people who still didn't like the way Heath's Joker looks. I thought he looked amazing in the movie, and is the definitive Joker in my mind.

I love the one pic in the book of the concept of Batman and Joker in the interrogation room. Anyone scan that yet?

i hate the top one,

the middle one is virtually what we got.

the bottom one has potential. it actually does look like they manipulated a pic of heath for this one.

for the record i hate them all and glad we got what we did..

You're joking?

No, I'm not. I disliked the look of Ledger's Joker from the start, and that third picture is very close to what I wanted. Get rid of the scars and it's damn near perfect.
