The Dark Knight joker concept art..

While the final version is my favorite, I wouldn't have been against this one.

I love to see alternates and why couldn't they go with that interogation look for the room? It looks so much darker and eerie, better than the bathroom look it had in the film.

Because that scene looks like it's taking place in a nice, posh art museum, not a real police interrogation room. What we got was much better.

heres the other pics i was telling u about.. he has green hair and is less grusome..

looks like a model here i dont like it..

I'm not too crazy about the interrogation room, but oh dear god that Joker is perfect.

The top one is basically what we got, but the bottom one is pretty similar as well, if more skewed toward the comic, with the skin and shorter hair. It looks modeled off of Sid Vicious - I could dig it.

No, I hate it, but I hate the Heath design 100 times more.

I want to see a comic book come to life...not some Emo, dahrk, gritty, self-loathing wannabe serious crap.

The best Joker I've seem so far is:

'Cause...he.....looks like the Joker? :o

I like the idea behind the Dead End Joker, just not most of its execution - the eyebrows and the nose are the biggest problems I have with it, but other than that, I like it a lot.

As far as Heath's look goes, I can dig it (par for the loss of bleached skin) because I know where it came from, apart from the already-cited sources outside of the comics -

Simon Bisley's Joker -

Bob Kane's original design (yeah, I know those're just bags under his eyes, but they're very prominant, and it seems they wanted to literally translate that) -

- and Cesar Romero's Joker (as has been mentioned before).

But there really isn't any excuse for that Batsuit. Jeesh.

I think it looks like Micheal Myers has just discovered the new Romantics. Terrible as a Joker design imo.

The design thay gave Ledger is certainly not 'traditional'- but it works.

The closest I've seen to a 'traditional' Joker was something I found on Google images.

Looks a lot like Bollands' Joker (aguably the greatst rendition of Joker ever) and not a prosthetic in sight. Probably wouldnt work too well on the big screen but it's a helluva lot better than the god-awful 'Dead-end' catterpillar eyebrows design.

The Joker in Bat in the Sun's movies is Mark Hamil's B:TAS Joker incarnate. Only thing is that, though he's got the voice and the look down, his laugh is kinda mediocre: batinthesun.com.

I recommend Patient J. Good fan film. Got a 9.5/10 on fanfilms.net at the moment.

I don't know about the rest of you, but I always found it much more scary and mentally unstable that someone would willingly disfigure and disguise themselves in the Joker manner, rather than just having it happen in an accident.

It goes both ways, in relation to how it serves the story. Both work, if they're executed and followed up on well.

The Joker we have in TDK is perfect.... What's this **** above!^ That looks like some kind of demon wanna-be from Buffy!

I like the top one, but think the scars are too prominent and the suit looks boring. Don't get me wrong, it's a very nice suit... but making it all purple gives it a lack of contrast that makes it very uninteresting. Love the hair, though. The middle one is a bit too over the top with the big head and sharp teeth and all, despite being close to what we got. I really like the look of the last one (especially the hair), but would prefer the skin to be a tad bit whiter if they were gonna go with the permawhite look. I think I actually prefer the makeup to that. So yeah, despite the top and bottom having their good points, I still prefer what we got in the film.

Can anyone re-host the pics? They all seem to have exceeded their bandwidth.

arkham asylum : a serious house on serious earth was one of the main influences on the dark knight's potrayal of the joker , and i could definitely see some resemblances . the messy hair, the wrinkley skin , the runny makeup , the trenchcoat ..... it was all there .

Wow that joker looks absolutely terrible. Also I'm not quite sure why your calling TDK's joker emo or too serious. From what everyone has said he's the most accurate representation of comic book joker when it comes to the way he acts. Who cares if his look isn't exactly the same as the comic and who cares if hes perma-white or not? Little things like that don't matter.
