Jurassic Park should have ended with the first one.

Jurassic Park doesn't have anywhere else to go.

I think there's more that can be done with a "Jurassic Park 4" than "Indy 5". Harrison Ford is pushing 70. Let Indy rest in peace. I don't like to see him as a cantankerous old man.

Yes, it does. Back to the beginning, essentially. Have someone (probably Biosyn) come along and actually get the park off the ground. Let us see John Hammond's dream in all its populated glory before everything goes to hell and the Pirates of the Caribbean start eating the tourists.

Hmmm, I'm not sure, tbh. I guess Jurassic Park 4 because there's more stories to tell.

That sounds like one of the 2 dreaded "R" words

There are three dreaded R words, and this would be a sequel, with different characters.

Um, these haven't been in any Indy books, movies, games, or TV yet...

Armor of Achilles
Garden of Eden
Excalibur
the Sword in the Stone
Cronus's Sickle
Thor's Hammer
the Fountain of Youth
Tablets of Destiny
Book of Thoth
Book of Death
Cup of Jashmid
Quran Treasure
Garden of the Hesperides
Seal of Solomon
Hrunting
City of the Monkey King

etc...

But Jurassic Park has just as much opportunity to grow. Saving the dinosaurs from extinction by a deadly disease when they are such a potential menace should be the next moral conflict.

Harrison Ford is getting older. If they're going to do a new Indy they better do it with in a 3 years.

Jurassic Park can wait, honestly I'd be ok if we never get one again. Nothing can be as good as the original.

There's always animation.

Plus I wish Jurassic Park III was never made, as annoying as some elements of TLW were, this one had truly no point in existing.

No one ever tries to see if their youtube videos work after posting them:(

In the link box, copy and paste everything after v= in the link.

What if they re-released the first one in 3D :wow:

Jurassic Park has plenty of places it can go, they just haven't gone there. The second film is a servicable sequel, and has definitely grown on me over the years especially in light of the awful third movie.

The first film set up a great standard. There's hints of man vs nature, playing god, genetic tampering and the implications of that- all wrapped up in a good old fashioned monster film. The park, the disaster, it's all there and it's all fun.

The second film did a lot right in concept, but muddied the execution. There's a slightly different set up, new locations, more dinosaurs, and various aspects that all would be logical in a progression of the concept of dinosaurs now in the present day- research expedition and great hunters hunting the greatest hunters, etc. It's a good homage to the original Lost World in this aspect, as well as a servicable sequel to Jurassic Park. Also important is that it reveals dinosaurs to the rest of the world- Rex in the city. I believe the film would have been stronger if it ended right as the Rex roars it's head over the city and the "Now you're John Hammond" line was spoken and we then headed off into a new bold direction for the third film, but hey, whatever.

The third film is pointless- ignoring the awful execution, what little storyline there is is flawwed from the beginning because it's an exact rehash of the second film. Except it's only about a third of the storyline. Lost World has Research mixed with Hunt mixed with Rescue. The third film is... Rescue. On the same island. Who gives a ****? No one.

As rediculous as it sounded, I was extremely interested in the direction JP4 was headed before it's then current incarnation got shelved and scrapped. Rival corporations all over the world cloning dinosaurs? Guys in castles having dungeons with ankylosaurs? Mutant dinosaurs? Awesome. Sure, a group of SWAT talking raptors might have been a misstep, but a T. Rex with miniguns for arms is definitely a good idea... just ask Axe Cop.

This is where the storyline should be headed. Not "OH NOES WE'RE ON STUCK ON THE ISLAND.. AGAIN."

Eh, to be perfectly honest, I'm not real excited about the prospect of either.

If I had to make a choice, though, I'd prefer Spielberg come to his senses, keep Lucas away from the writing, and use Ford for as long as he's still able instead of relying on his latest It Boy. Besides, we already have Sam Witwicky globe-trotting for ancient artifacts of unspeakable power and running away from assorted menaces (of alien origin, yet...heck, there ya go, hand off the TF franchise to Lucas: FX up the yazoo, substandardly-acted paper-thin 'plots' AND idiotic comic relief - I tell you, it's tailor-made for him!!!); LaBeouf doesn't need to pull double duty with the same schtick.

As for where there is left to go with "Jurassic Park"...eh, to borrow from Ian Malcolm here, just because it's possible to see other directions to go in, doesn't necessarily make it a good idea - "Look, kids! Dinosaurs with guns! Cool, huh?"; that may work great for the accompanying tie-in action figure toy line, but put it in the movie and it'll come off like something out of a Calvin & Hobbes strip (Which it is - I have it hanging on my wall).

has JP4 been even been officially announced??,I guess I think Indy 5 should come first But I'd sure f'n love a JP4&Indy 5 within next few years!

Neither.
I suppose it would be possible to make a decent drama based on the creation of the dinos and the park, but that'll never happen. Any possible sequels will just be more of the same; dinosaurs running amok.
As far as Indy is concerned, Harrison... love the man but he's just plain boring to watch at this point.

JP4

I think the trilogy is all around pretty good, but I'd rather seen JP4 than Indy 5, though I did like the OT and KOTCS

Personally I'm not remotely excited about a new Jurassic Park. The first one was great when I saw it (I think I was 14 or 15)... I haven't had interest in any of the others after seeing the 2nd film.

I have always loved Indiana Jones, and though there were several key things that I really hated about Indy 4, it was good to see Indy back on the screen and my nostalgia and love for the material overcame the negatives (Mutt swinging on the vines, etc).

That said, I don't know if I want to see an Indy 5. I think it ended well with Marion and Indy getting hitched.

I'd rather see Indy 5. I'm more interested in Indy as a franchise.
