I would love to see JP on the big screen again. It would make me feel twelve years old again.

When I was in like the first grade, the only thing we did on the summer holiday was to play Jurassic Park. Our school was under construction so on the yard there were alot of fences everywhere, and on the side of the school we had a mountain, so it was naturally a great and scary place to play such a story!

Even tho the rerelease is in 3D, since I was too young to see it in the cinema at that time, I feel I am forced to go see it now. That's my childhood and 3D cant do anything to hurt it :hrt:

Jurassic Park is my earlies memory (in regard to seeing films at the cinema). I may go see it again for nostalgia

I'm not a big fan of these 3D rereleases, seems like milking the cow too much.

I was always a dinosaur fanatic as a kid and I was only more interested when the teacher read the book to us in the sixth grade. We had a long lesson on dinosaur science that year (I still remember some of what I learned from it), which only whetted my appetite even more.

They may milk the Jurassic Park cow for as long as they like for all I care.
We got bombarded in the 90s with the JP merch everywhere. I wouldn't mind if today's kids got the same experience... because it was awesome.

Agreed. T-Rex vs Spinosaurus was a terrible representation of what would actually transpire if these two giants were to have ever met. There's no way in hell that Spino would be able to overpower T-Rex. Spino was basically an overgrown crocodile (nothing against the specie). When comparing the two, it's not close. Tyrannosaurus had the stronger bite. Period.

This brought a smile to my face. Tyrannosaurus Rex was such a heavily built predator. It really was the most evolved killing machine, the most powerful predator to ever walk the earth. No other carnivorious dinosaur would be able to stand up to it. It was simply too powerful.

Yep. Upon seeing it the first time in cinemas and every time since, it just feels flat and going through the motions. There's nothing extraordinary about it.

Yeah. I feel bad for the spinosaurus haha

There's that one scene when Alan and the gang are on a boat on the river passing by some dinosaurs with the JP theme playing. Instead of being magical it was contrived and lame.

it wasn't the JP theme song.

Just watched the first movie last night. It holds up really well. Even the CG looks great

the CGI is some of the best ever

beautiful

Did anyone else like JP3 MORE than TLW? (Not that I hate TLW far from it).

Nope. They went in order for me.

JP
TLW
JP3

I am with ya

ya. I am going. I can't wait. One of my favorite all time movies

I think with JP 4, they should do that 'reevaluation' that Bond, Star Trek, Batman went through to make a relevant movie, and not just another 'JP' film like the third one.

A movie that can be AS strong as the original, if that's possilbe. It'll never be as groundbreaking, but maybe recapturing the magic is possible.

Let's face it, it's time for our first dinosaur superhero.

Well, there's a currently ongoing comic book called "Super Dinosaur". From the writer of Walking Dead, so it's not a nothing

I also see this 3D release as a way to gauge the public if there's any interest in the franchise as a whole. If JP3D becomes it hit, it might become an indicator to make another film.

HA !!!! I was just about to post that. There is also a comic about a team of dinosaur heros called Jurassic StrikeForce 5.

More than likely its a way to gain some funding for JPIV. Lucas did the same thing with releasing the special edition of Star Wars in theaters back in the 90s.

Maybe, but Lucas funds himself, while JP has an entire studio full of money to spend

Not really. Every studio is hurting these days. I'm not saying the 3D release isn't about testing the water, just that using it for extra funding as well is also very likely.

It's possible. A little bit of both, I'd say. Universal needs a hit. I mean, I liked how they've been experimental with some of their more recent projects, like the cult classic Scott Pilgrim, but it didn't make them money.

I've been thinking more on how adapting it as a cable TV series could be better instead of cranking out another 2 hour movie.

The events in the first film could be stretched to fill 3 episodes of TV. So adapt the novel into a 10-13 episode TV series ala The Walking Dead. Have the show open with Grant and the kids escaping from raptors then cut to "2 weeks earlier."

Every character's story could be expanded and explored and the BioSyn storyline could be boosted and they can change things that didn't happen in the film or novel and modernize it. Have more people at the park which gives you a few more characters to use and also kill. Don't have a tropical storm, just have Nedry's virus cut off the power at the park. New dinosaurs and ones with feathers.

Have Nedry get off the island (only to be killed by BioSyn).

Have one of the kids die.

Mention Site B from the start, or have two storylines going on at Site A and Site B.

Season one ends with everyone rescued.

Season two adapts The Lost World and has flashbacks of Malcolm going public and the survivors recovering. The T-Rexs get free in San Diego.

Season three has BioSyn open their park and now a tropical storm hits their park in the Pacific. Season four loosely adapts Jurassic Park III and the final season is just phone it in, action and deaths with the US Government wanting to use the dinosaurs as weapons in Afghanistan.

I don't I agree with that too much. Not too sure

No way. If there was to be a mini-series, it would need to just follow both books closely.

Terra Nova failed. A JP mini series would fail.

They either need to reboot or make JP4 nothing like the previous 3 films sans dino riders or human raptors.

Shaky cgi(I don't care who does it) and the inability to capture the wonder of the first one...modern remake.

it's not going to be as good as many think. Not with the material.

Very interesting, but not excited yet.
