Jurassic Park IV

yeah, i seem to recall that (taking a cue from an important plot point of the first book), raptors had gotten onto the ship. but the scenes with them were cut to trim down the SD sequence.

The Lost World was ok... the third JP was fun, but I still don't like that they killed the T-Rex... and so easily!

I'm still bummed about the death of the T-Rex in JP3 as well. Such a letdown there wasn't another battle at the end with an adult T-Rex killing the Spinosaurus.

Yea, I was so excited when I saw the JP3 poster in the theater hallways, but then I looked at the skeleton and hey, that's not T-Rex! :cmad:

A T-Rex/Spinosaurus rematch at the end with an adult T-Rex winning against the Spinosaurus would've been so awesome to have gotten, it could've even been on par with the classic T-Rex and Velociraptor battle from the first movie.

Yea... when they escaped the island, I thought a T-Rex was gonna jump out of nowhere and tear that Spino apart ala the first movie. Didnt happen.

And a shame it didn't, especially considering how amazingly anticlimactic JP3's ending is.

Im pretty sure thats what made people mad about this movie the most. Spino killed trex and lets be honest people love trex so it wasnt cool when a bigger but weaker dino kills him easily.

I agree with what you're all saying-- I wanted to see another T-Rex appear at the end and kick the Spino's ass. It would have felt a little more reminiscent of how the first film ended and it would have also been more satisfying. The film's ending felt too abrupt, and I was expecting one more crisis.

very nice. Hopefully we'll have some more features (i also found the features on the current dvds to be lacking).

as far as the t-rex/spinosaurus debacle, I'm in total agreement that it was a ******ed move. I get that they wanted to showcase another large predator, but how they handled it was wrong. Excuse me while I put on my nerd glasses....

The T-Rex has the record for strongest bite of any dinosaur - something like 3000
pounds per inch - his skull and jaws were MADE for crushing bone, while the most widely accepted purpose of the Spinosaur skull was to catch fish in the water. In short - the T-Rex would most likely have nearly decapitated the Spinosaurus with that first bite to the neck.

The Blu-rays had better be individually available and not only in a trilogy pack. Even though I might consider buying The Lost World on Blu-ray, I want nothing to do with Jurassic Park III.

But Jurassic Park and the Star Wars saga on Blu-ray in the same year? :awesome:

If there was another Jurassic Park how would they manage to drag Alan Grant or Ian Malcolm back to either island for a third time?

They always find a way...but last time I checked, it wasn't getting people onto the island...it was getting the dinosaurs off the island.

Blu Ray news is awesome. With this and Star Wars coming out, the only other big franchise I'm waiting for is Indy.

I thought the special features were good, but new ones would be a bonus for sure. Commentaries with some key cast/crew members, retrospective interviews, deleted scenes, never before released behind-the-scenes footage, etc. in addition to the features on the DVDs would be nice.

The only reason the T-Rex lost in JP3 period was because of Jack Horner with his stupid anti-Tyrannosaurus agenda he finally got around to infusing the movie with at the time. His theories on the T-Rex being a scavenger have been disproven and IIRC, he even admitted later on his theories were wrong.

Is this really happening? I just read the comments of Joe Johnston about that matter. A second trilogy of Jurassic Park? I really think the world desperately need some dinosaurs in the cinema, but I am wary about this. If done, it needs to be a fresh story, with elements from the books, and what made the original so compelling, the sense of wonder and danger.

I showed my little brother the first two and he loved it. Maybe time will tell.

So far there seems to be nothing on JP4 let alone a second trilogy happening. That news has been around for a while.

Can't wait for the blu-ray! I hope the transfer is good!

really? when did this occur?

Forgot where I read about it exactly, but I've heard he admitted a few years back his theories were wrong.
