This is a continuation thread, the old thread is [split]500255[/split]
This for me felt like a monster film. The sense of awe and wonder wasn't present.
The same exact criticism that Roger Ebert made...
of Jurassic Park.
I haven't cried in a movie in a long time but this one almost got me with the injured dinosaur scene.

Really? Thing is when we see the dinosaurs for the first time with that theme playing. It felt epic and special. The awe and wonder was there for me. In this film, I was rolling my eyes when they played the main theme when the dinosaurs were not even in the shot. I guess I'm in the minority of those who didn't like the film. Actually I'm the only one. Lol
I may feel the same. We shall see.
You can't expect any JP film to recapture the magic of that first reveal of the dinosaurs. Even in real life the laws of diminishing returns effect us. We've seen four films by now. The audience isn't going to be blown away by dinosaurs like they were in 1995. In 1995 it was amazing because no one had really seen something like. They hadn't seen dinosaurs done so well, so "magical", and with so much "realism". But now we have. We've seen that magical moment over and over and over for the past 20 years. So I'm not sure any JP sequel will ever have a moment like that one, and that's not a bad thing. It indicates that moment in JP1 was truly something very special.
