Jurassic World - - Part 11

I don't think that outgrossing AOU or whatever is the reason the movie gets hate. I think it has more to do with how it seems like this movie made all the money in the world yet was...Simply good. Not great. Not terribly special. Some would even call it a bad movie. I guess people can't grasp that and it becomes a problem for them I suppose, like JW is "undeserving". I liked the movie fine, so I don't care much, but I was shocked by how much money it made.

Yeah I agree. I found it awful to be honest. Not the worst film I've seen all year but I just left the theater going "bleh". To each their own I guess.

I've always maintained that a big chunk of the hatred is because Jurassic World outgrossed Age of Ultron. Other people dislike it for real reasons of course but I'm not going to ignore some of the Marvel fanboys.

Mad Max was never going to be the biggest film of the summer so it would be silly for Mad Max hardcores to care about what Jurassic World did but MCU hardcores had their hearts set on Age of Ultron winning that crown.

Oh yeah, some people just didn't like JW, that's fine, I loved it personally but recognise it's got a lot of flaws. I just think the heart and emotion the movie has makes up for those flaws. And I like the movie more and more the more I watch it.

But there were definitely some MCU die hards who hated the fact it out grossed AOU and took over the first Avengers in 3rd of all time. I remember some posters being really bitter about it.

I just find it funny, they were all crazily successful so to me it doesn't matter which one earned the most. Mad Max and Kingsman didn't gross crazy amounts but both were my favourite movies of the year.

There was one cut scene where Pratt and Howard are digging through a big pile of of dino doo and rubbing it over themselves in an attempt to mask their odor from the I-Rex; it was kind of a cute nod to a certain scene from the first film. Otherwise I honestly can't remember much else because they were so inconsequential. Mere seconds of extended random banter, really.

^funny I thought that scene was more tribute to the third film where they were digging through poop for the phone and the smell drove away some carnivore.

File them a copyright infrigment. ;)

I didn't think JW was great but I thought it was better than AoU, which was just a mess. JW deserved to make more money. It was a better movie.

I liked AoU better. There's more going on, but I look at each set peice like an issue of a comic crossover. focusing on a different character, but furthering a central plot. like the creation of ultron is an issue of iron man, the farm scene is an issue of hawkeye, and the last 20 minutes are vision #1. but it's all part of the age of ultron crossover.

JW on the other hand, was just a chase movie, and not as well done as fury road. I'd rank it higher thn TF1, but not nearly as high as JP1

AoU was much better film than JW in like every aspect...plot and story, characters, dialogues, action, humour, JW was not even close, IMO.
There was nothing great about it. It was just a needless rehash of the original, and where the Speilberg's one had unforgettable moments and character lines and interactions, JW had its inferior carbon copies and not even that. I really cannot find even one thing that would justify its box office results film-quality-wise. It was mediocre family film with one brutally killed innocent babysitter, which happened to earn over a 1,5 billion USD, this world is just one absurd place. Also, rip SW Ep.IX.

While I don't think Jurassic World has been the best movie of the year so far, it is certainly my favorite movie. The only movie that I can see dethroning it as of now is Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

Agreed. AOU was just disappointing in so many aspects. Were as JW was just fun throughout and had tons of heart.

Both AoU and JW disappointed me.

Boy did it ever, Looking forward to seeing which direction they'll go with the sequel in 2018.

Same here, watched JW again last night, still enjoyed the hell out of it. I don't know where they will go in the sequel, but I am sure they have something up their sleeves. Shame Treverrow is not coming back.

I think the movie was terrible. I think i might even like JP3 more and i thought that was really weak story with some terrible characters.

But if it's gonna help bringing of more dinosaurs related stuff in media, more power to them.

JP3 was not a good movie but it was a better movie because there was actually a modicum of creativity and tension in it, the plotting wasn't completely brain dead and Sam Neill was a far better lead than either Howard (who was OK) and Pratt (who was beyond dull). I rate it a 3 because Dinos! and the very cool boss character who should have been the lead.

I enjoyed the movie, but it isn't very good. It had a lot of potential, but suffers from really weak direction...makes me worried about Episode IX.

Liked the movie as a great popcorn entertainment spectacle. It just lacks the intelligence, patience, and nuances of the original. Still a worthy sequel IMO.

It's okay. I haven't seen it since my first screening though.

Are you talking about episode 8 because that is 2017 not 18 or are you talking about the JW sequel?

I didn't care for this much going into it, but it was a lot better than I thought it would be. Certainly the best Jurassic Park sequel.

I also didn't know Vincent D'onofrio was in this so it was really cool to see him. I also marked out for the return of the old music and
the DNA cartoon character!

Chris Pratt was Starlordish, but I was okay with that.

My main gripe was the two kids. Unlike the first movie, they were the complete opposite and annoying as fu** (as well as Claire wearing high heels throughout the whole movie). I was hoping the Dragon Rex ate them.

That final fight was amazing though!

No wonder the movie broke records!

JW had heart? Pfft.

JW had *zero* character development. They gave us no reason to care about any character.

Couldn't disagree more. I cared a lot about the characters in the movie personally.

Bit of a late reply this wasn't it?
