Jurassic World - Part 10

There are certain films that feel more like events when you go see them...not just "going to see a movie". Hard to explain. Like, if I go see say...Spy. It feels like just going to a movie. But when I go see Star Wars, or the next big Marvel film or in this case Jurassic World it feels more like a big event.

When I saw the movie the theater had a good amount of people in it but was not full and at the end people started to clap and that almost never happens and so I started to clap to just because ever one was. I normally don't clap no matter how much I love a movie because I just think it is odd. Its not like the people that made the movie are there and can here you clapping lol.

What is Inside out tracking at? I can never underestimate a Disney movie and from the sound of things this movie could be the best Disney animated movie since Toy story and so maybe it could be the next frozen. I don't think any one had frozen making what it did. But at the same time frozen didn't have a big first week it just didn't drop off much week from week so it staid in theaters a lot longer then movies normally do. Most movies are in theaters for about a month and a half around where I live where frozen was in theaters for like 4 months and that is by far the longest I can remember a movie being in theaters around where I live.

Pixar movies usually have a solid opening weekend and play well for several months afterwards. And judging by the story, it doesn't lend itself to being sequelized or having a huge merchandising boon like Frozen has.

Early tracking suggests Inside Out is slated to open to mid 60M-70M. So in Disney/Pixar's usual batting range.

I'll change my prediction if the Wednesday number holds better than I think it will but for now I think Jurassic World will do around 88-93million, which is not a bad drop for such a huge opener. Avengers will keep the second weekend record. Inside Out I'll say 68million.

$24.34m on Tuesday. Non opening Tuesday record.

I am still not sure what inside out is about but it looks real different and good.

So how much did both avengers movies drop off from the big Opener? Also any changes at all Jurassic world could do 100 million?

Those sound like good predictions to me. JP4 likely past $380m by Sunday night. Just unbelievable performance from a supposedly dead franchise.

Variety has an article saying it's poised to make 100 million this weekend.

I'm gonna have to see it again this weekend.

It's always fun being a part of a phenomenon :awesome:.

Dinosaurs deserve this. :woot:

So when you watch your favourite team of any sport on TV, you just sit there in silence?

lol I guess that is true. You should have seen me when I was watching the 2010 finals and I thought the lakers where going to lose. I don't think I have ever got so animated before lol.

I never got why people from other places think applause after a film is weird. Their justification is, "they can't hear you." That ain't the point, *****. :cmad:

Saw this tonight, some problems but overall I loved it, cast were great, but the real stars we came to see we're the dino's and they didn't disappoint. The Indominus was awesome, and that ending fight? So good, especially the conclusion. Go old girl!

Some emotional moments as well, the dying Bronto being lulled to death by Pratt and Howard was sad, as was what happened to some of the raptors at the end. Overall a great ride and a movie I will be going to see again. 8/10.

My only query is, where do they go from here? 2nd best movie in the series for me, but my dad actually said he enjoyed it more than the original!

that's what I said when I started clapping at the end of Schindler's List and people were looking at me funny.

Yeah, I don't hate clapping at the end of films. My crowd clapped at the end and clapped when the girl said " I have a boyfriend." The film just in general seems to be a crowd pleaser.

Definitely some movies I see and it's just whatever a movie. But when it comes to franchises I am passionate about like JP, Star Wars, comic book films etc it is an event for me. Has more meaning.

My audience and myself clapped at the climax of the final battle and at the very end with Rexy roaring over the park. But so many other times during the film my crowd was super into it. It was a really good theater experience. :)

I believe a lot of previously successful franchises can be saved. Universal's Fast and Furious and Jurassic Park prove that more than anything. I'd say that First Class's quality saved the X-Men franchise as well.

My audience cheered when the T-Rex finally made her appearance at the end.

We also had a couple in our audience wearing matching Dennis Nedry shirts - the flowery one from when he met with Dodson. :funny:
