Jurassic World - - Part 11

1. Nostalgia
2. Pratt
3. Good movie
4. Introduces concepts that felt new and fresh
5. Great marketing

It wasn't 'luck'.

Haha anyone that believes a movie can make $1.6 billion on pure luck is delusional.

Jurassic Park animated series concept art

Holy mother of god, a Jurassic Park animated series that was going to be a prime time ALL-AGES show was in the pipeline and then got canned?! That would have been so awesome back in the 90's and much better than TLW and JP3!

That link reminds me that a plesiosaur needs to be in the next movie, and there should be a plesiosaur vs mosasaur fight! :woot:

I still think bringing back Jeff Goldblum in a supporting role would greatly improve things. And I think the Pratt/Goldblum dynamic would be a hilarious and awesome treat to see. It can still be Pratt's show, but Goldblum should be there.

That would be interesting to see. The ex military rugged man contrasted with the cynical mathematician who's more cynical in the 18 years passed.

The director of this is putting his foot in his mouth about women directors. lol

it makes him seem so unlikable.

What I don't get is this: Sure, maybe he's right in saying that women may not to direct a big comic book movie, hence the shortage, but what about medium budget movies like Gone Girl, or the upcoming Girl on the Train?

This is why directors, both men and women, should not answer questions like this. It's too easy to say the wrong thing when you have to cram your thoughts into easily digestible sound bites. Only answer questions about your own work. Everything else stay quite about. The public myself included don't need to know a director's opinion on everything coming and going.

I'm thinking that while I enjoyed JW, I've probably had my Jurassic fill. The original film never gets old. I like the Lost World, and this it's still the best JP sequel. Jurassic World gave me what I wanted. An inversion of the original where we see a working park. It was a fun movie, has a good reputation and made a ton of cash. I'm not sure if there's anything else I want to see from this series.

There's a "Jurassic Park" quote-along at the Alamo Drafthouse near me, on Labor Day.

Oh man, always wanted to be in a room full of strangers talking with the movie. Sounds like a gas.

Jeff Goldblum is the only actor I want to come back again (other than B.D. Wong since his character obviously still has a role to fill) so I think it'd be a great duo.

The banter between the two would be the stuff of legend.

Another great installment in the Jurassic series. Rating a ten for acting, story line, and good special effects.

I just popped in to say I finally saw this and Holy s*** this movie was an absolute blast. Im not even a JP fan and I thought this was such an incredibly fun film. This and Furious 7 are the blockbusters of the year imo.

No, those would be Mad Max Fury Road and Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation.

Heading back to IMAX 3D tomorrow, I may check it out once more.

I gotta see Fury Road one more time to get a better opinion of it (it was kind of a jarring film to me) but yes, Rogue Nation was also awesome. :)

I don' get why people praise Mad Max Fury road so much. I think it's an extremely OVERRATED movie. I think Jurassic World, Mission Impossible Rouge Nation, Avengers AOU, Ant-Man, and Straight Out Of Compton are superior in every way.

I respected your opinion until you mentioned AOU and even Ant Man, which I enjoyed a lot, but that, and especially the big disappointment that was AOU, can't hold a candle to Mad Max Fury Fury Road. I do think JW and MI were great as well though.

I'm just surprised Mad Max was so highly praised by critics. It's got a freaking 98% on RT. It surprises me because it seems like the film hits a very niche audience, with its unique, weird visuals, simple plot and a near silent protagonist, it doesn't seem like the film is for everyone, or at the very least its a movie you gotta watch a few times to really absorb and take everything in. I'm very surprised critics are so enamored with it.

Is it really that surprising? Its the best and most perfectly executed action movie in years.
