Jurassic World

Still counts, but I can buy him being ambushed, even if he was supposed to know the raptors well and still fell for their hunting trick. But the second and third movies made it ridiculous.

I actually liked what I saw with that clip of the pterodactyls flying around and eating people, even if it is for a game or really the movie. Though it makes one wonder why they especially haven’t escaped on a large scale like that before.

Previously they were in giant cages but the gates were left open in JP2.

Was the T-Rex fully cgi, animatronics, or a bit of both? Also, someone who worked on JP 3 mentioned that an aquatic Dinosaur-like creature was what killed the speed boat crew at the beginning.
They used both cg and animatronic dinosaurs. Basically, any shot where the dinosaur's full body is on screen is cgi, like in the picture of the Rex stepping out of the fence I between the two cars.

Ocean-going ichthyosaurs or better, mosasaurs, would be a bigger challenge to control for sure although I think for necessity, they'd have to be fewer in number but massive in size. Mosasaurs were the kings of the ocean in their time rivaling anything else that's existed.

They'll have to build Jaegers.

On a more serious note, I half-expected a sea dino to emerge from that huge wave in the pitch FX video. My heart was racing at the idea. My favorite scene in JP3 was when the Spino attacked them on the boat. I do need sea monsters in my life (being a huge Lovecraft fan and terrified by the sea).

Pitch video was for a game not the film. Thank god, since conceptually it looked like trash.

Exactly. It's the obvious route to take this movie in. I can't believe it hasn't been done before.

Where a one armed Samuel L Jackson appears from the bushes!

''Ray's alive!''

I can see it now. Sh**s gotten real. Our protagonists are huddled in the foliage, the ground trembles as a T. rex seeks it out its prey. They stifle their cries of terror in each others shoulders, all seems lost then...a trap door swings open in the ground two feet from them. Hooked hand emerges, plunging its tip into the ground to hoist up its source. Up rises ray, cigarette in mouth. "Hold on to your butts, motherf***er."

It was real.

Cool, good to know. You know what always amused me about the first three films. You had a bunch of hunters, soldiers, and mercenaries with all kinds of weaponry in all three movies, yet the ONLY human who managed to kill a dinosaur in all three movies was a teenage girl using gymnastics. Did all those people suffer from Stormtrooper syndrome? Maybe in this movie, some humans can actually shoot straight.

Not true. It was actually a bit of both. You can't have a 40 foot animatronics walking around and thrashing like that. Some scenes the Tyrannosaurus was fully CGI, other scenes it was the giant puppet. The first scene where we see the rex, in that pictures, was all CGI. Even the jeeps were CGI, watch "The Making of Jurassic Park"

Also, I hope they call the Raptors Deinonychus in this movie, since that's what the Velociraptors in the movie were based off of.

Not exactly JW related, but JP related:

I would pay so much money to see this. So much.

Here's the truth: that Jurassic World teaser was for a movie. And a video game. It was part of a proposal for a big, multimedia relaunch of the Jurassic Park franchise that was headed by Iain McCaig, the guy who designed Darth Maul. I have talked to sources who worked on the reel and they have confirmed with me that it was absolutely intended to show off ideas for a new film, one where dinosaurs would begin attacking California - basically a bigger scale version of Jurassic Park: The Lost World.

But it was also going to be a game and have an internet component. All of these aspects would be tied together to tell one big new franchise story, in the great transmedia tradition of the 00s. Which makes sense, as this pitch reel is from 2011, and the concept was kicking around before the reel was made.

I liked the rumored leaked plot from Joblo alot better. I'd rather see it go back to a theme park then Dinos taking over like the end of Lost World. Too many other movies are already doing that, and it didn't work that well in Lost World imo.

It begs the question of how that works. We should be able to put down such a thing.

Defiance on SyFy does a similar thing with their MMO game and the television series being tied together although so far we've not seen how well that has worked out for them.

I hope not. I was never really a fan of the spinosaurus, I prefer the t Rex.

The spino should return... only to get it's neck ripped out by a T-rex

I didn’t like the Spinosaurus either. It was forced bad-assery, making a big scene about killing the T-Rex, which is the icon of the series.

I didn't care for the Spino at all except for the river sequence, which I felt was one of the only really good scenes in JP3.

I haven't seen JP3 for a long time, but I remember liking this scene. I prefer my JP in the jungle with pouring rain, and this scene gave me that.
