61 Nights of Halloween (2025 Edition)

Halloween II (1981)...Been a minute since I watched this one. I still like this one fine but not quite enough to miss it within the David Gordon Green timeline that erases it. The way the fake "Michael Myers" gets absolutely destroyed in the beginning never fails to make me laugh at how over the top it is.

I also rewatched it last night (showing my wife the first three Halloween movies)

I still love it, and I absolutely love the madness when it starts and his direct homage to Romero and Night of the Living Dead.

The first two seconds of that song sound like something we're not supposed to be hearing. :DV:

Hollywood was obsessed with "Mr. Sandman" in the '80s between this, BTTF, Grease 2 and Uncle Buck.

Bite-Sized Review: I had forgotten just how much bad CGI is in this. MEW and Joel do their best, but only so much you can do with a script like this.

Bite-Sized Review: There is something here and the two leads fight for it, but I don't think it gets to good movie status. But there is gay, so yay.

Bite-Sized Review: John Goodman's breathing is more threatening then Vader's.

This was better than I thought it would be mostly thanks to the really strong performances from Maika and Mew but I wasn't a fan of the ending at all.

Not really a horror film but a pretty solid little thriller and Emma Thompson was definitely the standout here along with Judy Greer who does well playing a more villainous character.

I dugg this as sort of a low budget throwback to Guy Ritchie gangster films from back in the day but with a horror twist and more of a B-movie feel/flavor.

While I wouldn't necessarily call this a good film I was somewhat entertained by it. It's a low budget Saw ripoff with a pretty fun central performance from Jackie Earl Haley. The rest of the characters are pretty annoying and unlikable though but there is one really cool and gory kill that caught me off guard that was kind of awesome.

What about the ending of Cradle really got you, @KaijuDude1992 ? I wasn't really a fan either.

The whole finale was pretty lame IMO.

All that great buildup just for that rushed, third act climax put a really bad taste in my mouth plus it just felt like an unsatisfying end for Maika Monroe's character overall.

I just found her death super abrupt and goofy as hell and they didn't do nearly enough with the queer aspect/sexual tension between her and MEW.

I still liked the movie enough but the original film is far superior in every way.

I vaguely remember the original of the first film. Just the many Lifetime originals that cloned the formula.
