Just finished my short film: Ninety Degrees and Sunny

guess I'll be first.

Ill be honest and say that I was impressed. I thought the hints here and there were effective for the most part, but once it became clear what had happened, I think you could have shortened the flashback some. In between the hints and moments that made me go "whats going on?", i was starting to get a little bored at times (ie: watching her get ready - while i always enjoy looking at a pretty lady - could have been trimmed slightly - or maybe a few different camera angles to keep the eyes from straying). I also would have liked to have seen something a little more at the end. It ended with me wondering what was in store for the mother and father. Is there any hope? I'm sure that was your point, but from a personal perspective even a slight nod, touch of the hand, or hint of a forced smile from the husband in the evening (or something negative) would have given the story a better book end (excluding the shot of the house) since the story doesn't really have an actual ending.

The important thing is: you set out to weave a narrative together, without any diaoluge (very hard to do). And you did. You played with my emotions (i initially laughed when she walked outside) and made me want to sit and see the end.

Great work. 2 thumbs up.

Wow, powerful stuff. From a filmmaking stand point, it was great! If you have anymore films, send them to me. I'm now a fan.

Beautifully shot. How do you like that camera? I'm looking to go HD.

thanks for your insightful, well-articulated post. I'm going to take it to heart and rework the editing a bit. Thanks!

Thanks! You're my number one fan! Literally, you're the first. :D

Wow. I agree that the ending does leave you hanging. And that's the only negative thing I can say. Every thing else was good. A very emotional story.

Very well done. It was pretty darn gripping, and I have to give a big compliment to the actress. She was very believable.

What a beautifully powerful short film. To be able to grip the emotions and tug at the heart strings without one word shows amazing talent. I give high praise to you and to your actress. I would love to see more of your work.

I'm glad you liked it. Jessica was a tremendous actress and I almost felt bad making her cry for two days straight. But she can turn it on and off in an instant. Thanks for the complement. My main goal was to make it look cinematic, and create an emotional impact without any dialog. Jessica really made my job easy!

Thanks. That was my first. I'm going to shoot a music video and another short (this one less depressing) this summer. I'll keep you posted.

You mind if I post this on my Facebook? Want some film school friends of mine to see this.
