I have some thoughts and questions...

I quite liked it, even though the Thor vs Hyperion issue and final SS issue was a bit of a drag...but the others were pretty good, especially the avengers vs ss issues.

Am I right in thinking that SS are more or less the JLA in all but name? If so, can someone tell me which JLA members are the SS counterparts? I figured out Hyperion is superman, the skrull guy was the martian manhunter, dr spectrum is green lantern but thats it....so this tpb was basically JLA vs Avengers? I mean I know not officially but still..

am I too right in thinking that the death of a universe was marvel's take on dc's infinite crisis?

and people said thor whoops hyperion's ass, but in the one on one in thors comic, hyperion seems to get the best of thor, and in other fights too? (but to be fair, one was with power princess too).

It was kinda neat to see avengers pwn the ''jla'' though :p

and also, how did they get taken into the 616 universe? they seemed intact in their own universe at the end of ''death of a universe''...and I dont see how the new squadron supreme series fits in, since it seems to have nothing to do with this series?

Yes, The SS has always been a very thinly vealed version of the JLA

Thanks...

I think its cool because Marvel can just do ''JLA'' vs Avengers whenever they like :D....I do wonder how they got away with it though? I would have thought dc would sue or something....

and I still don't get how the new series has anything to do with this one...it seems like a whole totally new team and universe

The new series is a totally new team and universe. It has nothing to do with the previous version except for lifting the names of the characters.

exactly. And DC wouldn't sue because it'd be lame. The SS aren't on any merchandising or anything like that. The companies have a "friendly" rivalry, and they wouldn't make it unfriendly over something as small as that.

Nothing really, they're a "Re-imagining" of the old team. Basicly Ultimate SS
