Squadron Supreme rocks

But I never said the reverse, either.

Uh...Yes you did. Critically acclaimed books like Invincible or DMZ you've called "no name titles". It's not that you have to like them. You don't. It's not even that you have to try them. You don't. But to write them off without knowing anything about them, just because they're not in the top 10 slots is lame.

If you think I read just Marvel or DC or the top selling titles, you don't know me. I read IDW, Dark Horse, pretty much anything that catches my attention. I never said other wise. You said that the top telling titles were ****, and I enjoyed some of them, so I wanted to make a point, and that point was, maybe it's not the people buying hte popular titles who are wrong....you came off like your taste is right and everyone else is wrong and I took issue with that.

Again, I NEVER said top selling books are crap. You keep bringing that up, but i never said it. You're taking issue with something that was never said. You should READ more, and ASSUME less.

I never said that about Invincible. That always seemed like a great book. never heard of the other one. Plus I said it to make a point like I just said. You more or less did say that, too...''why is it the top titles are crappy but dmz (or whatever) cant sell for free'', was your basic message. If you didn't intend it that way, fine but htats how it came off.

In that post, I gave specific examples of bad books. I did not say all. You are the one that did not give specifics, and makes blanket generalizations.

Invincible is an swesome book to.Id say its better then ss.

I loved the Gruenwald 12 issue arc. I picked it up first and kept on reading the modern day stuff.

I think Supreme Power was good but very slow suffering from decompression a lot. When it switched to Squadron Supreme I think that got a lot worse, seemed slightly amiss, then, it decided to never come out. Wasn't interested in picking up the versus title. So I dropped it.

The boobs and swearing just added an edge to the book, that's what I miss. I hate how they've just lumped all these heroes and villains together now AND the fact that the book took a break for the Hyperion/NH fight right when they were gonna throw down with Redstone.

Supreme Power >>>>>>>>>>>>>> Squadron Supreme

Squadron Supreme lost its edge with the name change and move away from MAX. Also, they got way too many characters, and some of them were flat and simple very uninteresting. The book was a lot more solid when it focused on the core of Hyperion, Blur, Doctor Spectrum and Nighthawk. And I doubt we'll ever see anything as great as their fight in the mall with Redstone.

Man, oh what fun that was. :D

It lost it's edge? One of the characters helped a child bludgeon her parents murderers to death, the same character who got raped a few issues before....that's toned down to you? What, you gotta see the penetration or the blows splat the skulls to have ''edge''?

Actually, all you stated goes under the uninteresting character category of my post. Oh wow, another badass chick I wonder if her origin involves rape and an abusive father, oh it does, HOORAY! She has emotional issues! Yippee!

And yeah, it lost its edge because that type of stuff happens all the time in all ages DC Comics now, seriously, no joke.

But a boob and a few swear words bring that edge back?

Not at this point, and its edge had little to do with boobs and swear words. Supreme Power had an anything goes attitude, where anything and everything can happen. While Squadron Supreme doesn't have that feel, and its really not about censorship but more about pacing and the fact that there are new characters to develop.

I disagree with that, but fair enough.
