I agree with the guy that said that the movie should be called JLA in the US and just JL in other countries. In the movie itself, they should probably call it the "Justice League of America" once at the beginning and then simply refer to it as the Justice League thereafter.

I just had to point out, that is a ridiclious and ignorant statement, that I'd expect of no nationality short of Americans. Why must America save the world? How very patronising. America is the greedy brother of the world.

It raises another point. If America is so great, why are the JLA there? Shouldn't they be in Africa dealing with poverty and other real issues, instead of whichever supervillian is robbing the first national bank?

Does it really matter? WB will still probably call it Justice League. I would be OK with it being called Justice League of America, but WB will want this baby to make as much money as possible, worldwide-wise. They will not risk losing potential international Box Office. Also, I don't think american audiences will be in an uproar just because the "America" is out of the title. I'm sure a big part of the film's plot will take place in America anyways. Oh and the moon if they wise up and include The Watchtower

i beg to differ, its is almost impossible for someone who wants to come to this country to get a job so that they can get money to provide for their family when they have to pay a good thousand-something dollars just to get into the country.

I think they should go with JLA. Because for people who are not at all familiar with the material, saying Justice League of America may imply that there are Justice League's for other nations. It may sound sillly, but the last thing WB will need is just another confusing factor on top of the potentially mind boggling cast of characters being portrayed by different actors in different franchises simultaneously.

Those same thousands have probably been here for years. It's a pretty long and arduous process. I mean the 5 year residency alone is enough and during those 5 years you are still and illegal alien. Those are the guys who keep being deported. I don't think there is really a way to be here legally till you become a full fledged citizen. Don't get me started on green cards.

i agree with most of what you said, but as you said...you were addressing the whole "americans shouldn't be proud to be american" principle, i was addressing it with the box office in mind. 2 totally different things...which is why it shouldn't have been taken as "omg, he's saying we should be ashamed of being americans" but instead "it'd be more beneficial to the movie if it didn't limit the group to just americans". my fault for wording it so harshly...i didn't think anyone would get all riled up by my comment.

If you would've used the words "in terms of box office" in your original post, people wouldn't have taken issue with it.

Though I still don't understand the difference between "being ashamed of" and "not to be proud of." That's quite a hair to split.

I don't let the actions and beliefs of government officials whom I did not vote for take away from my pride in the true ideals of this country. I hate my government officials, but I love my country.

On topic, the superhero comic book is one of the only true American creations. These characters have become worldwide icons, but they are originally American imports. Cutting off the "of America" just to make it easier for the rest of the world to swallow is of the same line of thinking (in reverse) that lead to "freedom fries."
