Focus Features has secured the rights to the 2012 "Black List" screenplay Times Square and has attached four-time The Fast and the Furious franchise helmer Justin Lin to direct. Written by Taylor Materne and Jake Rubin, Time Square was given the following official logline:

Set amidst the transformation of Times Square from New York’s seediest neighborhood to the commercialized Disneyland it is today, when a secret from his past is unearthed, a young man’s loyalties are divided between his neighborhood boss who raised him and the grizzled ex-cop who swore to protect him.

Lin is also attached to direct the next chapter in Universal Pictures Bourne series and recently signed on to helm the narrative version of the Sundance documentary The Battered Bastards of Baseball. He's also directing the pilot episode of the upcoming CBS series "Scorpion."

Sounds like a potentially good story for Lin to take on.
