Justin Timberlake Leading I'm.mortal?

When our sun goes from yellow to red than explodes and turns into the a black hole in the centre of the galaxy, it will still be ok to dislike Justin Timberlake.
He can't act. when he's in a movie, it's a not a character, it's justin timberlake.
Wait a minute. Didn't you say that Jason Statham was a good actor when you put him into the right role? Every movie with Jason Statham is Jason Statham as himself. Justin Timberlake can become a character. Hell he even voiced Boo-boo in that Yogi Bear movie and sounded exactly like Boo-boo.

Damn all this Timberlake hate is just pitiful. The dude is a damn good actor and literally has f'n killed every role he has touched, haven't seen this one yet though

I know.

I'll admit, I'm not a big fan of him or his music, but he was one of my favorite parts of The Social Network. It kind of took by surprise the first time because I wasn't used to seeing him act in a movie. Though, a few minutes after he appeared on screen, I forgot it was him and just saw the person he was playing on screen because he was so good. When the movie ended, I was like, "Wow, this guy can actually act!" :wow:

Yeah, Statham, while I like the guy, basically plays bald, five 'o clock shadow Cockney badass in every role. When he gets more dramatic, call me.

Jason Statham can act. The role he fills in is relatively simple and plays to his strength, namely b-movie action. A good example is "Cellular" were he plays the bad guy, he's about the only good thing in that movie trumping Kim Basingers performance. Even if we were to say "it's Jason Statham" he's cool by default. Hell, his voice alone is cool. He can easily carry it off. Justin Timberlake cannot. As a male (and as with the majority of males) they dislike him regardless of his boy-band singing or pretend yo dawg ganster talk. He is a little squirt and I really don't want to see him in any movie. Hell, this movie would have been better if it was Jason Statham.

I'm not backing the Timberhate either, he's a decent actor. Also Statham would be too old for this movie based on the premise.

You keep telling yourself that.

he is'nt trying to be an actor he is an actor

Being yourself / an exaggerated version of yourself isn't acting.

Granted, Jason Statham is one-dimensional, but I've enjoying almost every single movie he's been in. He makes it work.

Really enjoyed this film. There were parts that reminded be of the bliss that was Gattaca.
Other times I just missed Hawke and Law.

If Timberlake wasn't a good actor, you would NOT have David Fincer and now the Coen Brothers bringing him onto their films. They're not the kind of directors to just cast somebody because they're "in," they see talent.

Statham is a good action hero. But has the guy ever done a dramatic role? He's good for what he is. But he still has yet to trascend action hero status like Bruce Willis has done, for example. He's more our generation's Arnold. In terms of this movie? Far too old.

It's official this is a life changing film. Just handed a homeless man some time. Wow. Anyone live in a city and been effected? (I'm in LA)

Also I ignored a woman asking for bus fare the other day so... that scene was manipulative...

You should see him in that movie "London" then..

I really like Statham but he is what he is. He can act well enough in the right role to make for an awesome movie. He actually did well in Revolver, probably my favorite movie of his, in the acting department.

Like I said, I was a Timberlake hater back in the day but I give him his due now. He's made the Will Smith jump. He's legit.

I dont agree with the Will Smith jump Smith had a tv show then got into movies big time. I was going to see this movie today but woke up feeling like crap.

He made the leap from successful musician to successful actor and leading man. Doesn't matter if it was a TV show or movies first. Timberlake isn't on Smiths level yet, but he's on his way. Smith was a rapper before the TV show and continued music before the movies.
