K, Watchmen looks beautiful..BUT can I get some help here?...

Sorry man, but once again, this is a 20 yr. old story. I'm surprised it's taking that long to read, I burned through it in one night.

Yeah alot of people are just being introduced to Watchmen. I know what happens but not everyone does or wants to. Spoiler tags would be good.

SPOILER TAGS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Currently in the middle of this book and you ruined it for me, thanks.

You didn't think that maybe, just maybe, there would be SPOILERS in the WATCHMEN (SPOILERS) forum? :o

Seeing as how this is the spoilers forum, I dont feel the least bit sorry.

What year did this come out again? I remember reading an article about it in Comic Scene magazine back in the late 80's, so it had to come out about 1985-87. I read the first time about 1992.

The first issue came out in '86 and the last came out in '87.

okay folks who have not read the book, you have several months until this movie comes out. go buy the graphic novel and read it, you won't regret it, and you will have a much better understanding of what goes on here.

Haha, yeah man, you are in the spoiler forum.

:whatever:How compassionate, I wonder would you feel sorry if the shoe were on the other foot?

In the TDK spoiler forum, people still use spoiler tags for the benefit of others who dont want to be spoiled, I know its the spoilers forum, but you should know the majority of people come here rather than the non-spoilers section, now i dont even feel like reading the rest of the book, thanks.

Normally I agree with the whole putting spoiler tags on things but this has to be the exception to the rule because this movie is going to be an adaption of a novel that's over 20 years old, and if you are not compelled to read the rest of the book because someone mentioned something that happens(and they didn't even mention HOW it happens) then you might not have been that into it to begin with. I know with TDK I read every spoiler, looked at every picture, downloaded all the scenes that were available and was still rocked by what was in front of me when I finally got to see it, so my point being that don't worry the story has so much even if one thing got spoiled for you there is still tons of other things that will knock your socks off. LOTR is the perfect example of this, almost everyone read the books but nobody was ready for how it was presented to them.

Why wouldn't you just wait until you got to the end of the book to visit the spoiler forum? Don't try to pin this on everyone else just because you ruined it for yourself. Besides, the details given aren't enough to ruin the book, which you'd find out if you'd just keep reading instead of blaming someone else for posting spoilers (about a 21+ year old comic) in a spoiler forum.

^lol. and I read an interview with snyder where it was confirmed that the ending of the film wouldn't be different from the comics...then again the interview was still ambiguous, the only thing zach confirmed for SURE was the fact that millions of new yorkers are dead at the end of the film, something he apparently had a tough time convincing the studio to pass. on top of that, veidt lives for chrissake....rorschach, the only guy with a strict ethical guideline gets toasted (despite his more ambiguous tones...)...if TDK took cliches and gave them a sort of subversive twist, then surely the ending of this film will stir up a bit more discussion.

TDK's been out for around three weeks, whereas every detail of Watchmen has been known for 21 years. This isn't a 'Snape Kills Dumbledore situation', where everyone's hellbent on being a dick to everyone else in the most unoriginal way possible . This is a 'you should have read the book before coming on a discussion forum about the book' type situation, and the blame lies squarely on your shoulders.

:yay:

I'd feel like a total dunderhead for wandering into the spoilers section when I didn't want to read spoilers.

Seriously, the discussion that goes on at this board, it'd be ridiculous for us to spoiler things. And we shouldn't have to. We come to the spoilers board to talk about the book without having to use tags. That's the idea behind having 2 seperate forums.

It's not even about that. Even in the TDK section, you shouldn't go into the spoilers section of a movie that's already out, unless you want to be spoiled. You expect the "favorite Joker scenes" thread to use spoiler tags? It'd be ridiculous!

Half way through the book? Dont want to be spoiled? Then I suggest a Watchmen spoiler board is not the place for you - just yet.

The real magic of WATCHMEN isn't in the story details being unveiled anyway. It's in the themes and concepts that are explored as this occurs, and how much is there to see the second time you read it, and the third time, and the fourth...and so on.

Why would the Question be in Watchmen?

Rorschach, one of the main characters in the GN, closely resembles the Question, if that's who you're referring to.
lol, yeah sorry, i was doing 4 things at once and didn't even think about what i was typing. lol.

Snape kills Dumbledore:wow::wow::woot:

^I agree with Symbiote Kal-El, I am nearing the end of the book myself but now the big conspiracy has been revealed on here it just wont be the same now.

You guys simply have no compassion at all for other people it seems, I personally would have preferred to find out what happens in the book and a thread like this is not the place I would have expected someone to reveal a big spoiler like that.

Stay the **** away from the spoiler board if you don't want to be spoiled!

If you didn't, then you brought it on yourself and you have absolutely no reason to cry about it.

It's not really a lack of compassion. Yes, it sucks that some details of the ending were spoiled for you. But really, what did you expect when you came into a spoiler thread about the very book you're reading and didn't want spoiled? I'm sorry, but how can you blame other people for this? That's like grabbing a fence that says "DANGER: HIGH VOLTAGE" and being pissed when you get shocked.
